Post new topic

RZK55

Hi Good evening

My self sponsored  visa ( Retired ) will be expired in April 2021. I, have already applied for the renewal through Immigration. I, sent all required documents by email to a immigration staff. I would appreciate if anyone can tell me that how long will take to get approval.

Thanks

XTang

Usually it doesn't take that much time i.e. around a few weeks.

Which documents did you send for renewal?

RZK55

Good evening,
Many thanks Xtang for your swift reply. I sent them the below listed documents, they reviewed and accepted the documents and same time they send me file no. by returm email.

1.    APPLICATION FORM FOR RENEWAL OF SELF SPONSORSHIP RESIDENCE PERMIT
2.    COPY OF HEALTH INSURANCE CERTIFICATE
3.    COPY OF DOCUMENTRY EVIDENCE OF REGULAR INCOME ( BANK STATEMENT )
4.    COPY OF CPR
5.    COPY OF PASSPORT WITH RESIDENCE PERMIT
6.    COPY OF SERVICE AND RETIREMENT CERTIFICATE
7.    LEASE AGREEMENT

XTang

Used to take a few weeks upto a month before covid (for people whose initial visa took a couple of months to get the first time). Why don't you call them and ask about rough time?  And post it here for everyone's benefit.

RZK55

Good Evening,

Thanks XTang. I will call them to check the staus and will update with the latest.

XTang

Thanks please do.  You didn't go for a 10 year visa to begin with?

RZK55

Good Evening,

For Initial visa I, Chose to go for 10 years, They spoke to me over the phone and give me the option of 2, 5, and 10 years. but may be they misunderstood and approved initial visa for 2 years. Hopefully, this time they will approve my request of 10 years.

XTang

Ok good luck.  Let us know what they say about renewal timelines.

RZK55

Hi XTang
God Morning
I applied for the renewal of my Selfsponsor ( Retired ) RP 4 months ago. Last week I sent an email to check the status, I got reply by email that it is still under process. I am worried as my initial RP will expire after 2 months. Just I want to know if you can tell me is it due to Covid or any other issue.

XTang

It is primarily due to Covid unfortunately.

RZK55

Thanks XTang for your reply.
I will update when I hear from them.

XTang

Please do. But don't worry, after 2 months, you also have grace period of up to 3 months which the self sponsorship section can give you.

RZK55

Good Morning

Hi XTang and dear all.

Pleased to inform you that received email from Self-sponsorship@npra.gov.bh It is a mail addressed to group. saying the self sponsor visa request is approved and asking to send copies of passport. It tooks almost 6 months after submission of documents.

XTang

Thank you for the update.  And congratulations on finally getting it through!

Its been 9 months since I applied for self sponsorship visa, its still showing in process, neither rejected nor approved, I received paper cpr valid for one year (temporarily cpr), whenever I ask they say in process for approval. My nationality is pakistani does this delay depend on this? What are the other reasons they are delaying that much.

XTang

Self sponsorship on what basis?  Property or retirement?

isabellabeccaceci

Property.

GuestPoster370

@XTang

property

XTang

Then it's strange as you would have gone through security clearance for property purchase already.  It shouldn't take this long. Nothing to do except to keep following up with them.

GuestPoster370

@XTang i have rented one apartment and registered that contract before the purchase of property, is that the problem?? Do you think Pakistani nationality is the reason for delay?

XTang

I am still not clear.

You bought property after security clearance and then applied for self sponsorship visa using property title deed?  if so, the rental doesn't matter.  Nationality is not the issue as I got it on my pakistani passport in 2 months.  So the issue is with YOU - name, background or other aspects.

GuestPoster370

@XTang If the security clearance is not clear the property cannot be transferred on my name right? what do you mean by name and background can you please elaborate...

XTang

No security clearance is done before property is bought. Once clear, you go to notary and after that, SLRB gets involved. Is property under your name or not?  And did you apply with title deed?

Name means common name which can lead to more security checks especially if those other people have issues. Background is your political / religious affiliations, criminal background etc.

GuestPoster370

@XTang yes  I have been through notary, property is on my name and i applied through title deed, I don't have anything related to my name. i am clean never met anything you mentioned

XTang

The fact that it is taking that long means that there are security issues flagged that they are working through. You may be clean but someone else with your name may not be.

GuestPoster370

@XTang there are many by my name but my passport and id number cannot match, what is the exact issue i didn't follow...

XTang

I have been trying to tell you repeatedly but you don't seem to be getting it.

Simple: Forget about it and wait.  There is absolutely nothing you can do.

Complex: Read up on how security clearances and checks are done by governments worldwide.  Then come back and read my comments.  Hopefully it will make sense to you then.

GuestPoster370

@XTang

i will wait for their decision, thanks for the detailed information… appreciated

isabellabeccaceci

Hello!  What is the next step once a reference number is received for renewal of self-sponsorship residence permit?

XTang

Just wait.

isabellabeccaceci

Anybody knows which NPRA branch issues self-sponsorship residence permit? i received a reference number but I do not know which branch to approach to finalize procedure.

thank you

XTang

It is the self sponsorship section.

Read this thread.  Their contact details are given there.

GuestPoster370

@XTang

I tried to call many times but no response

XTang

Send them an email.  They respond quickly.

isabellabeccaceci

Nothing works…emails, phone call, chat box, in-person visits…it’s a fruitless struggle!

GuestPoster370

@isabellabeccaceci

True, i was about to write the same thing...

XTang

I don't know what to tell you then. Whenever I have emailed them, which is quite recently, I have always gotten a reply within a day.  I asked about renewal documents, evisa site application issue etc etc.

Now if you email them asking when your visa will be done, they will always reply that it's in process and will not give any timelines. This is standard for any government department.  So if you are expecting an answer to something like this...... You are out of luck.

And the real answer for both of you is just to wait. There is absolutely nothing you can do otherwise unless you know a senior minister or a Royal.  Once you get a reference number, it means application has been submitted. The approval process for this can take up to 4 months and in some cases, a year or more. During this time, however or whoever you contact, will tell you..... It's in process and that's it.

Thank you for your reply…

I suppose I’m stuck and cannot travel.
