Doing business in romania

Hello,

I am currently in the process of moving to bucharest. I read many comments online that it is a very safe place regarding crime. A few people i work with mentioned that making decent income could turn into some issues (being accused of false crime, someone extorting a chunk of it,...). How safe are banks with data is one of my worries as i tend to not live a flashy life at all.

All my clients are foreigners outside of romania (I thought this was a good thing to mention)

I know my worry might be meaningful but i wanted to make sure about it and hear it from some expats in romania who have experience.

Looking forward to your answers :)

Hi there!

Being a lawyer I can tell you that from my experience rarely do the bank seize a certain amount from a bank account. Behind the seizure in most cases the banks have justified reasons for instance the presumption of a fraud !

I do have three clients that encountered this problem.

One of them had a problem with a transfer from an outside of the EU country (as you might already know there are countries from where receiving money is more rigorously verified - especially when the country in discussion is in war). He is currently suing the bank.

Another played an online game and used its bank accounts to make an unsafe transaction and a certain amount of money was taken out of his account. Until now it is not clear who is guilty of the missing money.

The third - someone took the money from the bank account after the client voluntarily gave the identification personal data by phone thinking he was talking to a bank representative. There is a criminal case ongoing.

Only one of them is a company.

Nevertheless what I want to say is that yes, there are such cases, but not all of them are made by the bank without justification. In most cases the victim has a contribution of his own.

Keep in touch and I am here if you need more information.

Kindly.

Andreea

Good afternoon all. I hope you are all having a wonderful day.

I first of all want to start out by asking. What are the steps of an English civilian get a visa to work in romania?

I was currently living in Romania up until last Tuesday the 4th of January. When I decided to go home and visit friends or family.

I am now currently stuck in the UK due to my own fault of staying in romanian without acquiring a visa.

My partner is Romanian and currently working in Romania. I have a job role in Romania where as if I can get back into the country soon. With all the right documents I need I can start work.

There is a couple of things I need to get my head around.

I.E what sort of documents I need? Work permit long stay visa, travel insurance for the duration of the period of my stay. A DBS check by Romanian Authority?

I'm just struggling to get my head around everything 😩 and I would like some very much needed professional help regarding this situation.

I have where to stay while I'm over there as my partner owns her own apartment. Also she will fund me while I'm there until I get back into work. There is a job opening waiting for me. So in hindsight I just need all the correct documents and some detailed information of what exactly I need.

I appreciate you taking your time to read this and I hope for a best detailed reply.

Kind Regards Kiefer stanton
