Hi we are new to Cairo and so far finding it a wonderful and exciting place to be!  we are living near the Pyramids in Giza and just settling in.  Looking to meet other couples for friendship and socialising.  We travel down to Sharm frequently for kitesurfing and diving trips.

Welcome to Egypt! I hope u have a great time here. I live in Haram street too but closer to Giza and further from the pyramids. I had an Irish friend that used to live very close to the pyramids and he loved it. He used to be able to see the pyramids from his balcani and he invited us over for a barbeque dinner. If that's the case of ur place then u must be enjoying it very much.

Hope u make many friends and ur stay is a pleasant experience!

P.S. Try not to get to close to down town "Tahrir" and stay safe. smile.png

if ur gonna live in Cairo, the best places, in my humble opinion, are:
a) Nasr City - for the metropolitan malls and shopping life
b) Helipolis/ Korba - for a taste of old cairo

and then all the rest of the places are within easy travelling distance such as Khan el Khalili (always go with an Egyptian friend to haggle for u, coz no matter how good u think u are at haggling, Egyptians will be better coz we start at a lower price tongue.png trust me, i tried it personally, its not highway robbery in that when i go to Thailand for example, im fleeced as well tongue.png)

Haram was too far for my tastes, but the luxury of being close to the pyramids, of the night horse rides, would probably make up for the smell of manure near nazlet el siman.

Egypt - my home town.
