Hello. Good day. I'm Raiza. I worked and lived in Oman for 3 yrs. I recently left the country coz I already finished my contract there. I'm hoping to come back and work again there since the country is a really safe place. Peaceful and people are very helpful and nice. Hope this forum can help me get advice and gain new friends. Thank you!

JOYDEV

Hi, I am Joydev from Kolkata,
I want to explore my career out of India & believe Oman will be the right place to move with my family.
I am an innovative manager with 19 years of experience in ERP implementation projects and IT infrastructure and security in the manufacturing domain.

Could you please help me with a fair idea of the job prospect in Oman for my profile, so that I can stress further on it!

Sumitran

Hi JOYDEV,

Expat employment opportunities in Oman have been curtailed to a great extent. The reasons for this are many. Topping the list is the prevailing inclement socio-economic situation brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic and its resultant repercussions.

No employer will be in the mood to invest in material or manpower to expand their businesses at this time given the sorry state of affairs.

The second biggest reason is the added focus on providing employment opportunities to the locals, many of whom are struggling without a job or an income.

So for all practical purposes, now is just not the right time to seek employment opportunities in the Sultanate. Until and unless Covid becomes irrelevant and the market opens up in a big way, employment for expatriates in Oman would only remain a wish and desire.

JOYDEV

Hi Sumitran

Little disappointment; however, your illustration is extremely well in this context and very useful to draw a conclusion for now.

I hope, things will turn right in near future.

Moreover, could you please help me further to get an idea of the following points?

How good a salary package should I expect in a normal course on my profile?

How much salary is good enough for a family of four?

Thanks again. !!

Hello Everyone,

This is Jagjit Singh, from Mumbai, India.
I am spending an amazing time here in Oman, while still getting use to the scorching heat. Migrating to Oman was an interesting story (at least for me) and a challenging one as well.

In brief - I am responsible to align the payment mechanism and launch multi-range products here in Oman and to try and take Oman towards the digital growth.

For details, we can run in for some glass/cups together.

Cheers,
Jagjit Singh

Hey guys,

I’m Ritchie. I’m moving to Muscat here in the next few weeks from the US. I’m a teacher here and I will be teaching in an international school around Al Mawaleh. Definitely looking forward to using the forum as much as I can.

I've been in Oman 🇴🇲 for 2yrs now. I've completed my contract and am trying to move to another company, but my new employer is still requesting for noc.

Oman as a country is cool and calm.

ayehkerim

That's great, what would you do about noc now?

Parissa. P

You should find a job offer first. The employer then will take care of your viva exam. They do it online these days.
