Tourist visa to renew in Vung Tau

Post new topic

Laurent futur Nha Trang

Hi,
I am in Vung Tau at the moment. I have just renewed my tourist one month visa with a local of Vung Tau : I payed 1,2 millions vnd and it has been very quick (I gave my passport on Monday afternoon and it came back this Wenesday morning). The stamp is from Vung Tau authorities. What do you think ? I renewed two times in TPHCM, they told me the stamp is only possible in TPHCM or Hanoi. In Danang, where I renewed one time in may, they told me the same. At each time, my passport had to be sent to Hanoi where it was cheaper than in TPHCM. Almost 2 weeks without passport at each time.
What do you think about the legality of this stamp in Vung Tau please ?
Thanks in advance :-)

If its from a reputable agent it should be ok.

As I mentioned on another thread, the visa system here is a total shambles.

Below is the most recent stamp in my passport (my husband has an identical one in his passport), issued by Ba Ria-Vung Tau Immigration Office on Aug 10, 2020 and good until Feb 20, 2021.

We didn't use any agent, just went directly to the office ourselves  (Phòng Quản Lý Xuất Nhập Cảnh, CA Tỉnh BR-VT, 15 Trường Chinh, Phước Trung Ward, Bà Rịa).  The procedure took 15 minutes, I handed over 460K (230k per passport), and returned to pick it up 3 days later (they said it would take one week).  It wasn't sent to Hanoi.  Everything was done in Bà Rịa.

We have VEC, but I knew for certain that Immigration office in Bà Rịa took care of all types of visas.  I asked.

As mentioned above, I asked, and their answer was yes, they took care of all visas.  I didn't ask about the fee for each type.

Thanks a lot. In May on Danang, I went to police immigration center in order to renew my visa : they told me "only in TPHCM and Hanoi". In August in TPHCM, I went to police immigration center : they told me "only with sponsor".
Thanks a lot but however it would be interesting to listen the experience of a tourist visa renewed directly at the police immigration center of Vung Tau.

When you say "renewed" do you mean you got a visa extension? Or is Vung Tau issuing new tourist visas, which I thought were not available anywhere now?

I meant "visa extension". In may and august, I got a first and a second 3-months extensions of my initial visa. After that, I got one-month extensions every month.
I entered in Vietnam in February (with initial 3-months tourist visa). My consulate (I am French) didn't want to sponsor me because they considered it was possible to fly to France by Air France (one or two very expensive flights/week ; expensive or not, I don't want to come back to Europe at the moment...).

Who can blame you? VN is a haven compared to the evil authoritarianism that's going on in Europe, especially the UK.
