Yep -- see the link in my edited comment above.  Better to use the official Brazilian document.

Article 4 states that the period from March 16 to November 3 will not be counted.

Morning English Penguin,

Regarding the ACRO police certificate they need a passport style photo. Did you just take one on your mobile and upload it? Also how long did it take to get the certificate to Brazil? Finally did need to be Apostilled please?

Thank You

Dear Abhthree,

I attended the Federal Police Office at the Airport, with a friend and this is what they have advised:

Does it mean  I should be forced to leave immediately upon expiry of the 90 days? Or do I have time to sort out my residency please?

Kind Regards

Here's what it says:

"As said by the Federal Police employee, the period from October 24 to November 3 inclusive will be considered in the calculation of the 90 days of the visitor's visa, but will not be considered for the purpose of paying the penalty, in case the visitor passes the period of 90 days.

The period of 90 days having expired, the visitor will be notified to leave the country or to regularize his situation within a new period of 60 days.

In this case, a request of a residence visa, all documentation must be collected, the form available on the web page of the Federal Police (link) must be completed, with payment of the fee for the request and an appointment to appear at the Federal Police made."

i read it that you have 60 days to regularize your situation by presenting a documented request for residency within 60 days that the Federal Police accept.  That should be sufficient time, if you make it Job #1.

Hey,

I took and uploaded the photo with my phone, just got my wife to take it for me while sitting against a white background well lit etc. I would say the overall time from ordering, waiting for it to get Apostilled, yes it needed this, and arriving probably pushed 30 days? I actually had to order the ACRO twice as I was led to believe it was automatically Apostilled before being sent to you abroad but this was not the case with my first one, so be aware of that if you read anything about them always coming Apostilled.
