Moving pets to the Peloponnese - advice appreciated

Hi all,

My partner and I are planning to relocate from the UK to the Peloponnese in the middle of this year if all goes to plan. We are busy trying to work out all the logistics of this, and one thing that seems quite difficult is how to bring our three cats over.

The rules and costs seem to vary massively airline to airline, and still unsure if we can actually get them into Kalamata directly or only as far as Athens. Swiss air is looking promising as they have a very reasonable pet policy, and offer a flight from Heathrow to Kalamata via Zurich with a short stopover, however waiting for confirmation if pets can actually travel on the last leg.

We are somewhat constrained by budget so looking for most practical solution, both for cost, and as stress free as possible for the three of them.

Does anyone have experience of flying pets into Kalamata, and if so, who did you fly with, any advice appreciated, thanks in advance

Hi There,
Sorry can’t help you with advise but just wanted to say I am also hoping to move to Peloponnesus this year but with our 3 dogs, after investigations we decided the best thing to do was to drive the whole way with them, overland, ferries seem to be a real nightmare!
Good Luck!
Jules
