Border closed: Travelling within EU by road

Post new topic

Blessing82

Greetings,

Now that the land border is still partially closed between Portugal and Spain.  Can someone help with information about whether the COVID-19 test is required to travel into Portugal by road? As learned that, the border will be opened by March 01, will the COVID-19 test will still be required even after the opening of the borders?  If yes, what type of  COVID-19 test will be acceptable?

Hi,
There are border controls, and you can only cross land borders in exceptional cases. You can read it here:

If you hold a residence permit in Portugal, you may enter, but as the rules change daily, it is highly recommended that you have proof of a COVID-19 test, with a negative result, carried out within the last 72 hours, to avoid any surprises...
