Post new topic

Hi,
I am planning to relocate to Penang in June. My employer will get dependent visa for my wife.
However, I want to apply for visa for my parents as well, is government issuing LTSVP in this case??
Does this needs to be applied only by employer only??

Thanks for help.

As I know it doesnt work like that and I wish the govt would re-name that visa because it gives people the wrong impression of what the visa is about.

LTSVP requires a local sponsor, that being the Malaysian family of the person for whom the visa is intended . Example, you as a male foreigner marry a local woman. Now your wife becomes the applicant for your visa and is your financial sponsor, meaning that she has enough monthly income to support both of you and without you being able to add your income to the family because the govt wont consider your income in its decision. Another example is a Malaysian who wants a family member who isnt Malaysian to come and stay for a while. Maybe a child was born in USA and is a USA citizen but the parents are Malaysian. The keyword is that the applicant is the local-related-sponsor. No employer is in such a position and therefore cant be the applicant. If there are any Malaysians in your family who would agree to be your sponsor, then have them proceed to Immigration for the applications which are fairly extensive. CORRECTION: I meant to say Malaysians who are related to the parents.

Thanks for the reply.
OK,  I am now confused as the information available on internet says even expats are allowed to apply for that pass. So are you saying that case is changed ??

@CVCO,  so does the spouse apply for the LTSVP for the foreign wife/husband before heading to Malaysia or within the the first three months of arrival to Malaysia while the visit visa is still valid.

Thank you
