Hi guys,

Just joined today so I'm saying hello.

Hope you are all having a great day. Mines not bad, got a deadline to adhere to so I have been busy writing articles for the newspaper all day. This is not so bad when you can sit outside in this beautiful weather and type away on a laptop.

Happy blogging one and all :-)

Hi Aydin

I'm envious of you sitting outside and working at the same time. My name is Moneeba and i'm hoping to come to Turkey in September to teach english as a second language. I hope you can give me some pointers on living and working in Turkey as I am from South Africa and it will be my first travel abroad by myself.
Regards Moneeba

Hi Moneeba,

Yes I am lucky!

The best place for that would be Istanbul - I have a couple of friends there that Teach English. Some places will take native English speaking teachers without qualifications, some insist on TEFL or higher. Either way, is is not difficult to find work teaching there.

As a favour for a friend, I did winter camp last year and ended up teaching ankle biters for 2 weeks! It was fun but exhausting, although it was fabulous travelling across the Bosphorus every day on the ferry. Simply stunning.

There are a lot of people in Istanbul, doing the same thing. They are from all parts of the globe and all have different teaching abilities and qualifications.

Wishing you the best of luck with it all :-)

Christine
