Hello, I would like to request a bit of your help,

Im currently thinking about moving next year in SE Asia but i need a city with Health Care access, and a good one as im thinking about taking my parents with me also.

I was thinking of Ho Chi Ming city because i heard they got a really good hospital, but im open to all suggestion.
I loved Vietnam, Japan and korea.
Japan is too expensive imo, and korea also.
So i was thinking about a nice calm country in SE Asia like Vietnam or anything else.
But my most important critera is health care.  I will see the other ones after.

Thanks for reading , and have a nice evening or day

Hi -

Vietnam is rapidly developing but still has a very low cost of living, so it is currently becoming more popular with retirees. Health care options are improving in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. I'm not sure what the situation is in Danang, but that is the third largest city.

Thailand is actually more developed though, and many people say that you should go to Bangkok for treatment of the most serious health problems.

Malaysia is another country that you might look into.

Singapore is of course the most modern country in Southeast Asia but has a high cost of living.

You should also post your question directly in the Vietnam forum (which is fairly active) in order to get more replies and advice:

Also, here is the Thailand forum:

I hear South Korea has world class medical facilities but it will be more expensive than Vietnam and Thailand. My friends from Los Angeles used to go there once a year to get their medical checkups done before the pandemic. Also they're Koreans.

Bangkok..........Bumrungrad International, Paolo, Bangkok Hospital........all way ahead of anything here & you know what? they (even Bumrungrad International) are no more expensive than some private hospitals here in HCMC & light years ahead in facilities, client relations, professionalism.

So that should tell you something.

Many people talk up FV hospital, but to be honest,it is overpriced and they love to operate when its not needed.

Yes, Bangkok is the answer to your question. However, we all (or mostly) live in Vietnam. That indicates that there are a number of other factors that expats consider important. Health care is important but it's necessary to look at the overall big picture.

Northern Thailand has an annual air pollution problem resulting from forest fires during this time of year. Apparently, it goes on for several months every year.

To be honest, I would prefer to live in Thailand. Several reasons why I don't; My wife cant get a job,the visa system now is crap and the political instability of the country.
