Vinit V.Kadam

Hello,

Myself Vinit Kadam completed Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Mumbai University, India.

I have more than 7years of Experience in HVAC Projects. I have received an Job offer from Patetere Construction, New zealand. It has sign & stamp of organization's MD and HR. It also mentions about the salary, leave, contract etc., i am worried i have not faced any interview and yet received Job offer.

Sender's Mail id : HR Director <hr-Dept@patetere.construction> via zohomail.in

I tried contacting with mail id mentioned on official website "info@patereteconstruction.com" and they confirmed "As per available record the content of the email was found to be authentic"

Can you please confirm whether offer made is genuine or fake.

stumpy

I have done an online search and there is no information about this company at all.

I would be inclined to think it may be the start of a scam.

If they ask you to pay any money at all upfront for visas. or tickets etc then it is a scam.

Vinit V.Kadam

Thanks for your response.

I better be away from such offers.

Hello sir I am Pranil from India. Recent I got an offer letter from Auckland based company. Which is named as Sofitel construction.
ADDRESS: 13
Mahuhu Crescent Auckland CBD, Auckland 1010, New Zealand.
As you are working in Auckland , I thought you might help me to find about this company. Is this company is legit ? Please tell me as soon as possible. Thank you.

https://sofitelconstruction.com/ uses photos of construction jobs that are NOT in New Zealand. The domain name was only created on 24 June 2021, so it's a new website. The address is fake, showing Winipeg (which is in Canada) and the Map shows a park near where I live, which has no companies in (it's a public park next to a medical centre).

Sofitel is also the name of a hotel chain, and they do not build their own hotels, but they are constructed by others.

I'm sorry to say but it is FAKE.

I hope you haven't paid anyone for this.

Thank you so much sir. I didn't pay them.

I have received a similar offer. I followed their instructions until it came down to the visa processing fees. They gave me two options of payment; either by VFS global or New Zealand  Embassy in Delhi. I contacted both and they confirmed to me it is a fake offer.

Thank You

stumpy

It is a fake, a scam.

Employer is responsible for all visa and travel costs

That isn't enough to say they're a scam, but it suggests you should act with caution.

The big rule is - If they ask for money, it's a scam

Fred

https://sofitelconstruction.com/subcont … index.html

Apart from the glaring cock up in the site that says the NZ company works in LA, the text is exactly the same as another site.

Another massive red flag.

The name only shows up on their own site, as does the address and  number.
The chances of this being a scam are pretty high.

Have they asked for money?

Hello sir. I got a offer from a company called AGWORKS Imitated from New Zealand. I want to know if something like this is legit or fake. Please help.
rvijaykumarnrrs
If they ask for payment before visa processing., then its considered to be fake.
stumpy
Agworks is a company that finds farm work for overseas applicants. www.agworknz.com

Just be aware that it could be a scam as hackers use legitimate sites to get money out of applicants.

If they do ask for money of any amount then it is definitely a scam. Employers here in NZ are responsible for all expenses relayed to the offer.

AGWORKS Farming Group Limited (HFGL) is fraud Newzealand?

Dear Arrann,

I got an offer from Brighton Mall,  Christchurch, without any interview. The guy even called me to sign the appointment letter to commence the visa processing. For me it looks like a scam as nobody would appoint somebody without  at least a telephonic or skype interview.

Since I wanted to work in New Zealand, I did show some interest.

Your advise on this please.

Thanks

stumpy

It is a scam.

Hello sir i am saif ali this side

I got the appointment latter and aggreement latter from the Astell construction company in new Zealand.

Can you please help me out to find that the company is orginal not fake I will be waiting for your response sir

stumpy

They are a company based in Auckland.

How did you find out about the job.

Did you apply for a job with them.

They have a website online with email address and phone numbers. You could contact them to see if it is a genuine offer.

Check the online contact details against the letter you received to see if they are the same.

If they ask for you to pay ANY money then it is a SCAM.

Fred

https://www.astellconstruction.co.nz/

There is a real company but the above is a fake registered this year with false photographs of people from the business world.

Regardless, the same rules apply, if you didn't apply for the job and/or if they ask you to pay, it's a scam

Vaquant Construction is a NZ registered company at the address you have given.

You could phone them or contact them for verification.

If they ask for you to pay any costs then it is a scam.

On the strength of the letter it looks to be genuine.

Fred

So many red flags it's hard to know where to start, and that's only on my phone.

I assume you didn't apply as you asked if it was fake. If you didn't, it's a fake.

If they haven't asked for cash, they are very likely to.

Then the identity theft issue.

Fred

The language in the email is all wrong - Red flag before we start

vaquant construction company has one Google hit - its own site. Big companies get piles of mentions, but this has none

44 Airedale Street is a car park - Not so much as a shed on the land

https://vaquantconstruction-nz.com/about-us/index.html

has grown to a force of over 6,500 professionals operating across all seven continents, while remaining true to the original principles of our heritage

Other sites with the same text have been removed.

If that isn't enough, I suggest you call the company on the number given in order to ask them if it's real or not.

Of course, you'd be calling the scammers so they might not tell you the truth.

On a more serious note - This scam smells like 3 day old rotten eggs in a heatwave, and that really should have negated the need to bother asking.

Except it doesn't appear on any NZ government site

Fred

That wasted about 5 seconds until the scam became obvious, and another 20 minutes or so in order to make sure I was correct.

I must get back to work as I believe there's a high probability people who have been sent the job offer from this fake company, or the three others the same scammers have up at the moment, will reply to the thread to ask if it's real.

By 'three others', I  mean I found two more of the scammers sites whilst checking this one out. There are probably a lot more, including the one they have had taken down.
