Hello Everyone,

My company applied for my EP (category 1) for me and my wife and son. They did this because I transferred internally within the same company from Sarawak to KL. They applied on the 5th of March and I have gotten my EP and stamped it on my passport already.

However, my wife and son still haven't gotten their visa approval and it has been 15 working days already. Can someone please help me and tell me the rough timeline and how long it will take?

Thanks

BTW the application is through ESD.

Hi parth, can you please tell me how much time did it take for your employment pass. My employer mentioned they submitted my ep on 23 march. I do not have any idea how long will it take.

Hi Fk0102, My office applied to the EP on the 5th of March and I got mine stamped on the passport on the 23rd of March but my dependents still haven't gotten it. Since I am living in Malaysia and applying from inside the country it is done quicker. However, I have heard since covid people outside Malaysia are waiting 3-4 months.

It depends on many variables but it will take between 14 working days to 3-4 months.

It has been more than 3 weeks, my employer said that EP Category 1 process two weeks, but there is no news yet. Employer is saying it is under process and nothing else.

Can anyone please help me out here, i need to understand if I would have to wait more or is there any concern.
I did asked them where I can check status of my EP but there is no answer for this.

Update, I and my dependents got our visa. I would recommend waiting more and there is no concern. The immigration department doesn't have enough people working because of covid. I recommend waiting 1-2 more weeks and then ask your employer to email the ESD every day to expedite the process.
