International MD

Hi,

Did any of you use either of these three companies to assist you in obtaining your visa, Sponsorship and visa approval letter? I would like to hear your opinion & your experience as I'm looking to choose 1 to help me get my DN visa to move to Vietnam this summer. Thanks for your help.
1. Emerhub
2. Vietnam Visa Booking
3. Get Visa Vietnam

I don't have an employer yet. I will get a job once I get there. Any suggestions you offer would be much appreciated.

You may want to contact the consulate where you are and ask if you are able to enter. Seeing as you have no job lined up it may be worthwhile asking

Hospitals hire foreign physicians who are currently employed, who have a list of solid credentials and current references.  A walk-in unemployed doctors would have a difficult time proving his worth to any employer in this saturated market.

Without an employment contract and sponsor, there will not be a DN visa.

I have been communicating with Emerhub regarding a business visa . They appear to be very professional and return calls and E.mails promptly . I am considering going with them when I decide to go to Vietnam . Send them an Email and they will provide all the information you need . BTW they have checked out to be a very good legitimate company .

Thank you Digga Jug! I was worried because I don't know if Vietnam has an organization like we have in the US that checks on the legitimacy of companies (Better Business Bureau).

Hi Ciambella: I emailed and sent my resume to several hospitals and medical clinics (their HR departments) with not much success. I figured that their system preferred seeing me in person, with resume in hand. I don't know what to do next? I appreciate any advice you have to share.
Here's what I do: I am a chief medical officer who supervises a total of 20 Providers (MDs,NPs,PAs) spanned over 4 clinics in my organization. I am a family practice physician who still sees patients 2 days a week despite my administrative duties and I do refugee entrance examinations for the US. And currently, I also oversee our local COVID vaccination efforts for my city to vaccinate the community. Man... it's exhausting just saying all of that. LOL!

i think you should take Ciambella's advice. You must have a job organised before you can get a visa or a work permit and it will be very difficult in these lockdown times.

Thanks Malcolmleitrim for your advice. Any suggestions on how to best find an employer there besides what I've done already (see post to Ciambella for details)?

You don't need to have a job at all . You can get bussines sponsor letter .ND a subsequent business Visa . Keep it simple talk to experts and the people who can give you exact information . Like I previously suggested take the time to send Emerhub an e-mail and you will get the information .

I'm sorry, I'm retired so I can't give any advice on obtaining a job. My only advice would be, trust Ciambella, she knows how things work.
There are plenty of agencies who will take your money and promise you the moon, then three months later you find out you have been blacklisted and your so called "business visa" was not legitimate.

Thats how it worked before Covid, things are different now.

If the guy wants to spend over 4k USD then he may get in under the table.

Thanks Digga Juz! I have been communicating with Emerhub and another similar company. I've got to decide between the 2 and start the process since it takes weeks to complete. You are right: Emerhub responds well and they're very informative. I appreciate your advice.

Ooh, I definitely don't want that! I have 2 small children to take care of. And because I have 2 small mouths to feed (which always seem to want snacks every 5 minutes), I can't be unemployed for long at all either...LOL

Do you know what doctors make in Vietnam?  You might want to research that more before making a move.

Hi SteinNebraska,

No, I do not know the average salary for doctors in Vietnam (only what I've read on the internet) and I appreciate your advice. I agree that researching before making a major move like this is important. However, my life decisions to move are not based on, motivated by, or hinged on money. It's deeper than that. Thanks!

I understand you are not motivated by money but my wife's uncle is a surgeon and his salary is $40,000 per year (one billion VND) so it's not high.  I don't know what regular doctors get for a salary.  It's only one data point but first hand knowledge, regardless of what reading on the internet says.

That said, he isn't giving up half of his salary for malpractice insurance each year, so he has that going for him!

Odd.. visa on arrival was closed to deter illegal entry to Vietnam due to covid restrictions... Sound alike some dodgy visa agent operating illegally 🤔
