Lack of job interviews

I arrived in Dec 2020 prior to Brexit and under Brexit rules I have until 30th June to secure employment, no work permit required.  I have submitted loads of job applications since being here.  I've had very little response despite having an excellent and impressive c.v, having been told so.  I've had about 5 interviews. two lasted about 7 mins, one email with even I have to say was a brilliant write up, deleted without being read. One job I went for knowing I probably wouldn't get it but wanted the interview.  I'm flabbergasted at how I can't even get an interview let alone anything else.  I know we are in a pandemic but jobs are still being advertised.  I am applying for relevant jobs but I'm getting the feeling that my age 57 and Brexit are affecting my applications.  Does anyone have any feelings on this.  I'm now starting to panic, my partner had no issues securing work but i need a job to to stay.

In the same boat for over a year.
Keep trying, something is sure to come up.
At least, that's what I keep telling myself!!

Many end up working in fields they have never worked in before. Countless times I meet an expat doing work and they tell me it's unrelated to their pre-malta career etc

I actually don't mind what I do, I'm more than happy to try something new.  I'm just not getting any interview offers, it's very frustrating.

It has been like this all over the EU for a year now.
