Work visa expired a month ago, need info for procedure of cancellation

Post new topic

My current work visa in Bahrain got expired on March 6 which is more than a month. Need to know the procedure for Visa cancellation and applicable penalty fees to get 30 days extension (I found a new job but the sponsor couldn't apply due to my work Visa got expired).

If anyone knows the procedure then kindly answer

XTang

The visa is expired so cancellation procedure doesn't apply.  The extension needs to be applied within 30 days after expiry.  You can either go to NPRA and try to get them to give you a retrospective extension or leave and apply for a visa from outside Bahrain.  Don't keep overstaying - it will make future visas more difficult.

Thank you for the reply XTang,

Today my current employer has cancelled my visa officially and the new status on LMRA shows as "Employment Visa not valid".

I have a job offer in hand.

I am assuming that I can get grace period of 30 days from LMRA or NPRA then my new employer can apply a work visa for me.

Correct me if my assumption is wrong and guide me the procedure to take up the new job in my situation.

XTang

Yes 30 days grace period.
