Hi All,

If you are applying for a facilitation visa here is my experience. I am Irish passport holder and a resident of EU, I moved to Netherlands last month in April. I have registered with the authorities there and my purpose to move to netherlands was to open a restaurant business. I am still working with a company in ireland remotely as an Accountant. I got married last year and my spouse is non Eu from Pakistan. I was told by a solicitor that I can apply facilitation visa and it could take up-to 15 days to get an entry visa for my spouse, it appears it in not the correct information, I applied through VFS Islamabad on 12/04/2021 and it is nearly 6 weeks now and still we have no information as to when IND will give an answer on this. First they will tell you the standard time 15 days is extended then you could wait up-to 90 days and until then they won’t be able to give you any more information. This has ruined all my investment plans and I am not sure what would be the outcome of the application therefore i hold off the investment part as it won’t be wise to invest all your money and then realise that you don’t want to stay there because your spouse can’t join you!
Does anyone else got the same treatment or if anyone has any suggestions for me please?

You are not alone. We are waiting for the facilitation visa of my husband since more than 10 weeks now. I am Spanish and my husband is from Columbia.

You can do two things in parallel:

1. Contact SOLVIT. SOLVIT is a free service for European Union citizens that will defend their rights when they move to another EU member state.

2. File a complaint in the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs via https://www.netherlandsandyou.nl/contac … -complaint

SOLVIT might take 10-14 weeks to solve a case and Ministry complaints might take 6 weeks until you receive a response.

If the whole COVID-19 situation wasn't there, he wouldn't even need a visa, as Columbian citizens do not need visa to enter Europe.

Oh God! that is desperate, thank you for sharing your situation with me.

Have you tried contacting IND about this ?

Did they give you any timeline by any chance as to when this could be sorted or when could you expect a decision?

I asked my solicitor to contact them and they informed her that the case has been assigned to the visa officer now last week, did you hear anything like this in your case?

looking forward to hear from you soon.
