Job change in Malaysia

Post new topic

Pallavi Harshwal

Hi, I am currently working with an employer who is working with ESD and not registered with AMDEC.
My new employer already initiated the EP1 process and shared an acknowledgment letter with me.
But my current employer is saying they cannot initiate my EP cancellation unless they get communication from immigration, also they are saying once they receive communication from immigration it will take 3months for them to proceed with EP cancellation.

Can someone please confirm the correct process, as I checked with few friends who changed the company in Malaysia it takes a max of 2-3 weeks for EP cancellation?

It shouldn’t take that long ya.. they just have to do online cancellation and then take the acknowledgement letter for physical cancellation. Due to MCO, the appointment will need to be made soonest possible but will not be that long ya.

EP Cancellation can be done with a click. Which is online cancellation after that only your new employer can enter your details in the portal. Then once they cancel your pass online. they can physically cancel the pass in 3 days to 30 days.

You are correct, Last month when I checked if you are going for ESD all the appointments for EP cancellation is filled until September. Those who are saying it can be done in a single click they don't know anything about current scenario, yes system can be done but for physical you have to wait for few months.

Yes, It's filled. I am talking about Online Cancellation only. Physical cancellation depends on lots of factors including MCO and workforce. Online cancellation only needed for the new EP application. So both will move parallel and slow. Physical cancellation only needed before new EP Endorsement on passport

FYI, I am also waiting for new EP/SOCSO Approval.
