There is a website called desertcart.ec that claims to ship items from the US to Ecuador. Has anyone tried this service? I don't know how useful it would be (a 24 pack of Cherry Coke Zero, my favorite soda & not avalable in Ecuador, costs $158!), but it might be useful for some items.

I also do a lot of model building, & most stuff can be had on-line internationally, but I have heard a lot of stories that international shipping is difficult, if not impossible, currently. Anyone have further illumination on that subject?

This thread is an excellent idea, Damon. :top:

Also, if anyone has information or experience in recent months with the erstwhile(?) national postal service, Correos del Ecuador, please post it on this thread as well.

And how are Global Mail and other historically successful delivery services managing these days in terms of getting mail and packages to Ecuador?

I was talking to my Sister in Law, who lives here in the US but is Ecuadorian. She says she heard that Amazon is making inroads into Ecuador these days. She didn't say more, but she did say it is the US Amazon. What that actually means I'm not sure. But considering that I buy a lot from Amazon, it is good news for me...

@Dagretto …yes Amazon Has been in Ecuador quite some time actually. The local website access & distributing network in Ecuador is called TiendaMia (dot com); it’s associated with other online shopping networks including:

-Amazon

-Ebay

-Walmart

-Macy’s

You can perform a general search across the entire network, or choose to search a specific member of the net work.  The menu for TiendaMia seems to be limited to items readily available in Ecuador, but as soon as you perform a search you’re searching the net work including Amazon and the rest. However keep in mind that the 4x4 rule applies to anything imported into Ecuador. That is:

Packages up to 4 kg and US$400 of value enter the country without paying taxes or duties. you will not be able to order anything outside of these limits.

My addiction is sated lol.
