Short term accommodation

Post new topic

Hi all,

Can anyone advise of a reliable company for short term rentals from 28th June until the 23rd July, just for myself and my husband.   We are selling our own house and purchasing a new one and need somewhere to stay, preferably in the Paphos area, but do not want to pay holiday rates as way too expensive!  Any tips, information would be very much appreciated.  Thanks everyone.  Chris.

Short term is never cheap - maybe try airbnb or their ilk for a three week stay

as tourists here are hard to come by you may find a deal at a hotel or at an apart-hotel for your short term stay whilst your new house goes through

how far are you through the purchasing process.

Thanks Toon,

Yes, have been looking at hotels, apartments etc but they are expecting July and August to be busy so still quite expensive!   Haha, how far? put a blocking deposit down on 12th April, got loan approval on 12th May and continuous delays with vendors getting paperwork through to our solicitor!!  We thought we would be in mid June!

I feel your pain although we have been here 7yrs we'Ve just found a property we like and we are in the process waiting on vendors tax clearance and the acquisition permit

Hi,

I have had to rent short term a few times over the years, and I found that local auctioneers have been very helpful, in that they have properties for rent on their books and they are prepared to let them on a month to month basis, at a reasonable rent, and this has worked well for us, in Nicosia, Larnaca and Paralimni no experience around Pafos.

Failing that I would agree with Toon that Air BNB is an option, I would have thought there is good availability this year due to the pandemic, but maybe I'm wrong.

Or maybe vrbo

Hi Jake,

Many thanks for your suggestion, that is exactly what I did and found them very helpful.  We just viewed a lovely property this morning and moving in tomorrow!!

Cheers!

Best of luck with that Toon, hope all runs smoothly for you.  We have just been informed this morning that the seller is now going to change his solicitor!!  Hopefully, he will get things moving!  I Will keep you posted  :top: We love the property and can't wait to get into it and in the meantime selling our own one, so plenty to keep us busy!!  Thanks for your help.  :top:

Just be aware as we are now non Eu we must now ask for permission to buy ( acquisition permit ) and I’ve just been informed over the weekend  there is a three months backlog

Chris27

Thanks for that Toon, but it doesn't affect us as we are Irish!!  ;)

Excellent ,,, you are very lucky

Hi all

Can you share with me the contacts of the local auctioneers you mentioned. I want to rent something in Platres for a month but the short term rates now are very high. I want to try my luck with the auctioneers.

Thanks!
