The wife and I are planning a fact finding trip to several places in Mexico in a year. We plan to be there for two months, and Queretaro is one destination. I would like to find out from anyone with experience about this beautiful city. Things like climate and cost of living are easy to get information on. What I am interested in is peoples personal perspective and things they love and hate about Queretaro. One big question is if you had it all to do over again would you? People's opinions whether good or bad are a very good way to judge an area's livability, in my opinion. Any info or advice would be appreciated!

There is a  young couple on YouTube who have been traveling around Mexico for almost 2 years.  They have just settled in Queretaro and have several videos about their experiences…both good and not so good.  They are found on “Tangerine Travels” on YouTube.

We are in Querétaro now visiting from PV. I have been following the Tangerines.  It is not what they say.  Lots of graffiti and barrios typial of all of Mexico.  Downtown is beautiful.  Gated areas beautiful.  The rest not so much

I lived in Queretaro for one year 2018 to 2019.
It is one of the safest cities to live in.  There are a great deal of companies from Japan and Germany with car-parts type of industries.  It is very clean and still manageable in terms of traffic and population. However, it is a very progressive city so the size will probably increase very rapidly.  I lived in Jurica.  This is one of the nicest areas to live, but unfortunately most of the properties there are very old.  Nonetheless, it is very safe.   Moreover, there are many new housing developments being built.  If you are looking for a new home, just make sure you find out about the builder reputation since there are many investors that hire unsuitable labor there.
In terms of weather, during the summer months it rain almost every night and the rain caused many areas to flood.  Two were Jurica and Juriquilla.
Living there was somehow frustrating when dealing with the traffic and of course the banks.  Some people have to be off from work for one day so they can bank there.
The traffic can be very heavy during the early day.   One of the advantages is that there are many good supermarkets, walmart, home depot, good restaurants, wonderful food and plenty of taxis.   I met a wonderful taxi man that was very professional and safe.  I hired him many times for short trips and transportation needs.  The help only cost me $350.00 pesos per day, and $500.00 pesos for the gardener.
I hope this helps...if you have specific questions let me know and if I know the answer, I will respond.
Good luck to you!

Best advice about moving to any town in Mexico is talk to the locals.  They know exactly what's up.  Best of luck.
