So you signed a contract with an unknown company, without asking questions or finding out anything about it?
That is o.k. if you accept the risk (of having to return to your country - which looks likely now) and they are compensating you well for it (how much pay rise did you get?), but not in all other cases.
Hi beppi ,
I had no option that time as my direct agent told me this matter after my client awarded the new contract to them and my old contract was ended by 18th May and it was not possible to change the agency through employer that time as it is a long process.
And my direct agent said they applied through another agency as they have around 300 locality and they easily get approval.
And I know few others who had to do the same thing and i thought it will not be an issue.bcs my direct agent said they will apply ep through their agency after few months and as they need fast approval they applied though that 2nd agency
One more time: An agent has nothing to do with all this - only the employer does!
And, in general, engaging an agent might make the formalities easier for the employer, but never adds any value for the employee. (That‘s why they must be fully paid by the employer, not the job-seeker, by Singapore law!)
In addition, MoM dislikes dealing with agents (and so should you, in future).
Hi beppi
Thank you for your reply
Hello, This group has been very insightful, thank you all for sharing your views.
My question is pertaining to PEP.
My profile is as per below:
1) Already working in Singapore for 10 years with EP. Current employment EP would be valid till October'21.
2) New EP has been applied by new employer, a Start up company with me as first employee. MOM has asked some clarifications regarding new employer's company profile. EP is under processing for 3 weeks.
Question is:
a) Can I apply for a PEP whilst Employment Pass is under process?
b) Would PEP application help in parallel?
Request if anybody who has knowledge about this can clarify please. Many thanks.
Chandra: The general rule is one ongoing application per job seeker at any one time.
I assume this applies to PEP as well, but since we didn‘t have that case on the forum yet, better ask MoM (and report back here, so we know it for future inquirers).
It does apply for PEP too. You can’t have two applications at the same go.
Hi I just want to share that my EP is approved.
Here are the timelines
Applied: Jun-15-2021
Rejected: Jul-20-2021
Approved: Aug-10-2021
It's been the most stressful EP application for me so far and prayers really helped me a lot in this hard endeavor, for those who are still waiting for their approved application I want to share with you this.

Thanks for sharing journotest. Congratulations. Are you able to share which industry and role the EP is approved for? and Did MOM mention anything during rejection?
I believe that not even god can alter MoM‘s processes and results. But it is good if it helped you personally.
Hi congratulations!
Would you mind to please share when was the appeal date after the rejection?
Thanks in advance

Hi all ,
I’m an LTVP holder working for the same company since 2019,married to singaporean and local child.
My company applied for my S’pass on 22th October 2021.
08th November-MOM emailed my company to resubmit a clear passport photocopy (they say the photograph wasn’t clear).
Today makes it the 5 days after the HR resubmitted a clear photocopy.
I don’t know if it’s a good sign from MOM after reviewing my application and what’s a good time I can reach out to the HR to check the status of the pass ?
Warm Regards
Alphonse
AB Tock: Checking the documents (and the photo) is done at the very beginning of an application review - the actual process starts only after that. Thus you must still have patience - it can take between two weeks and two months in most cases.
Your HR cannot see more information than you in EPOnline. But if it takes an extraordinarily long time, then HR could reach out to the processing officer at MoM to find out what is holding it up.
Thanks Beppi, so you believe to say for these first 3 weeks, they just check my documents only and will need more weeks to process my application ?
Warm Regards
AB Tock: Yes, obviously they only checked your application after these three weeks - otherwise they would have noticed before that it isn't complete.
I guess I will just hope and pray it comes in due time and positive outcome , my LTVP is expiring in 16 days. I’m in the fitness industry.
Thanks a lot Beppi on your inside ,I appreciate it mate 🙏
Hi All,
So my company got a new HR , she noticed the ex HR applied my S’pass with a salary that doesn’t qualify me for the S’pass o her last day of work as well.Strange I review with her 1 hour before on the right package offer and all was correct on my application and same confirmation from management to her was relative to the salary offer. Information grom her assistant ,she edify last minutes and submitted (If it’s intentional or omission- no choice I need to face this now).
The New HR managed identify and informed MOM to expedite the rejection on Monday for them to appealed. With some helped appeal was accepted same day for submission.
Top management and New HR trying and calling in and out to expedite the S’pass before my LTVP expires on 27th November.
I think I will pray and hope for a miracle for positive outcome before the deadline.
Not a good timing as I’m going through Divorce proceedings and my daughter is citizen as well.
Prayers for me and a lot of luck.
Thanks all
AB Tock: I am puzzled as to how something like that could happen. What is the salary stated in your employment contract? That (and only that) should be entered into the application! How could an HR professional not know the contact?
(Last minute salary adjustment, just in order to get the work pass, will not be accepted by MoM.)
I hope I had the explanation to it.(I have asked myself alot questions or was it intentional- but what’s done is done.).
As a professional I expected better, but it’s being ongoing in that department.
I have been working for this company for 3 years on LTVP.
Salary eligibility for me for an S’pass is 2.8k, the company decided to offer me 3k basic salary-excluding commissions (industry -fitness).
Well MOM rejected the pass on the request by new HR and they went ahead to appeal.
Strange all contracts signed was on 3k.
It’s tough one here ,hope they are able to amend and justify with the ministry. It’s not only about pass for me, I got my daughter as priority.
I just keep the faith.
Hey Guys,
Below is is my situation.
Applied: 14th Jan
Rejected: 21st Jan (Need justification for higher salary and company financial statements)
Appeal1: provided all documents on 10th Feb due to unseen delays from HR
Status was still rejected in the ep online ( i think this is okay right ???)
10th March: MoM asked for educational Background verification signed up for RMI verification process on the same day.
30th March: RMI says accredition check is done, education verification is in progress.
Hoping to get the final rmi report soon and awaiting approval.
Would like to hear if you faced same situaton and got it approved.. some motivation is highly needed for me now
All your inputs are highly appreciated thank you
