Dear all,
Anyone has an idea how to get online a d7 application. I am a lebanese guy who wants to apply for a D7 visa. Beirut Consulate referred me to Portugal embassy in cyprus. Portugal embassy in cyprus has no website and do not reply to emails. I visited SEF website and couldn't locate a D7 application.
Does anyone has a clue.
Appreciate
Thanks

Hi,

You should start with VFSGlobal:
https://www.vfsglobal.com/en/individuals/index.html

The problem I see in your case is that through VFSGlobal, you cannot directly apply for a visa from Lebanon to Portugal.

You will really have to enquire that at the Portuguese consulate in Cyprus and/or contact VFSGlobal and raise this issue.

Hello, bon dia, John here,  new to this site, We are a couple, live in Mexico City. We plan to apply to move permanently next year to Lisbon under the D7 visa. I am 57, with a pension of $3300 us per month. I have USA passport and fulltime resident in Mexico for 3 years. My partner Richard is 36 works fulltime as an engineer anyalist for multinational agriculture science company and makes ~ 20 pesos per month. He has venezuelan passport and has work visa for Mexico.  His venezuelan passport has an extension till  October 2022. We were adviced by Portuguese consulate here in cdmx that it maybe best to apply together and specifically for he as my husband and would qualify under family unification.  We understand we will both need nif, bank account and background check. Also medical insurance and and an apartment lease agreement for 6 months. I can provide proof of income to cover for both of us.  Under family unification would we be able to apply together and go together correct? or is it a two step process?

Also he may be able to continue his work remotely as has been this past year but we have not asked his employer untill we have more information. His company also has a location but different service, outside of Lisbon. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.
Sincerely,
John

Hi John,

D7 visa

Residence permit:

The D7 visa enables the respective holder to obtain a residence permit in Portugal for a period of one year, which can then be renewed for successive periods of 2 years and can be converted into a permanent residence permit after 5 years.

Family Reunification:

Members of the family of the holder of the residence permit obtained via a D7 visa are also entitled to a residence permit, based on family reunification statute.

Who is eligible for the Family reunification Visa in Portugal?

At any time after having been granted a Portugal residence permit, the main applicant may apply for residence permits for the following family members:

Thanks for replying, I read everything but still doesn't specify say if we can travel together, unless I read it wrong.
I would submit one application, and if approved we would both go to Portugal ? and then I would go to sef and if approved he would then apply for family unification?? Sorry I'm just trying to understand the process because we would prefer to go together obviously. We also have rent and two pets to consider.

And another question about D7  income, and again I've read allot but recently read from another expat site that new requirements for D7 passive income are just under 700 euro/o first person and half for spouse but new requirements is to have that full year amount in a Portuguese bank account. About 15k. I've read different things about this none clearly stated the exact just recommend. But I also read anyone under 65 would also need to show an additional 8000 euro in savings per person per year under 65.  So that for us would be over 500k and we would not have near that in savings. But maybe that is why the D7 visas  I've seen that are getting approved have that additional savings and if true we will simply not apply at all. And that is ok just  important we understand, doing our due diligence.

A part of answers to your questions are here. You can submit the D7 visa as a family:

It seems to me that there is some confusion there regarding amounts of passive income. Please read this:
