Pensionardo and obtaining a Panamanian drivers licence

Hi
I have a UK licence and I am looking at getting a Panamanian licence. Any advice please

many thanks
Paul

This information may not be current. It's been 2 years two years since we last visited.  My Panamanian license was only good for 2 years.  It's was a bit of a hassle to get the license.  A medical exam may be required...we paid at the DMV ..no exam really. I was able to use my US driver's license for 90 days. It seems to me that you need to have a Pensionado card before getting the license.

Getting the Pensionado card was a rather long process. Probably need to go through a Panamanian lawyer to get the card. There are some good lawyers in Panama.

More info is available on this forum.

Hopefully, someone with more current information will update my comments.

Cheers,
Tony

The current procedure is available at:

My understanding is that a medical exam is only required if the applicant is 70 or older and their licenses are $20 and only good for two years.

If under 70 the fee is $40 and it is good for four years.
