I just quit my job and am waiting to join in a new company. Shortening of my current employment pass is on going. Because of a medical emergency back in India, I am planing to travel to India. I am in such a situation that my current company has initiated the EP cancellation online buy yet to get an appointment for submitting the passport for physical cancellation of EP.
In this situation
1) is it possible for me to travel back to India?
2) Even if i go back to India, is it possible to continue the visa shortening and transfer process?

Without physical cancellation of your VISA by your current employer, your new employer will not be able to proceed with re-submission of Stage 1 filing.

And you will not be able to do physical cancellation of EP from India.
I would suggest you ask your current HR to write to MDEC with all the details (comprehensively) and ask for their inputs.!

They will advise in accordance if they can prioritise or make any other arrangements.

Thanks for the response. I emailed the immigration vendor and sorted it out.
