Applying EP Multiple Times

mail4284

Hi Friends

Currently I am working in company Z. I got an offer from company A. They applied EP and got approved. Later I got another offer (I gave the interview earlier, but they responded late) from company B. As the company was the one I was trying for several years, I told the actual reason to company A and requested them to withdraw the application.

Then company B applied through Agency C with higher salary than company A offered salary. It got rejected. Then company B applied through another Agency D with lower salary (lower than company A offered salary). It got rejected again. Then they (Agency D) appealed. The appeal also got rejected.

Now Agency D is proposing that they will apply  through another Agency E with even lower salary. From the past few months I am struggling with this.

Will this make any impact on my profile during renewal with my current company Z or future employments? Please share your views on this. I am thinking on giving up this opportunity.

New EP applications and renewal of an existing EP are different issues.
You did not tell what is the actual rejection reason. But if that also applies to your renewal, you may be rejected there, too.

Recurrent applications often get flagged, you are perceived as someone trying to use the situation to move jobs for higher salary. MoM doesn’t like such cases- we recently had a consultant in a niche domain who kept giving interviews and negotiated a higher salary based on what another prospective employer had offered. Similar situation, his EP from the 2nd and 3rd employer got rejected. Appeal from the 3rd one too. Don’t do it if you serious about your career prospects in SG.

Bottom line, yes money lures you, but your repetitive applications with MoM may not look good. Job hopping should be considered at least after 2-3 years.
