Timber truck driving in Norway

jrutherfordltd

I'm from Scotland.

I work in the forestry haulage industry driving a timber truck with a crane

I would like to try and get a job in Norway driving a timber truck.

I would like to know if there would be any work available on a truck hauling timber or how I would find this information out.

Kind regards

Julie Rutherford

I would assume you have the correct category of license coming from Scotland but just in case, that's a good start:

Based on searching the ads, a crane truck is a special category of license, G8, and the profession of crane truck driver/operator is called kranbilsjåfør. You can search for the term on Finn and see the ads, but they are of course in Norwegian. None of them are specifically in the timber industry from what I can see now .

you can also google search Kranbilsjåfør jobb to see companies who are posting. I haven't found any specifically related to the timber industry though.

here's a possible list to check for jobs on company specific websites. It's a list of members in a Norwegian timber industry association, including all the stages of wood products (tree to finished furniture & building materials)

Hi ECS

Apologies for the very late reply.

I want to thank you for all the information you've sent across on expat.

I'm busy researching at the moment but want to say how much I appreciate your time and effort in doing this for me.

Many thanks

Julie
