Hello everyone,

First thank you for all the very useful information I already found here. I believe my specific question has not been answered yet. Apologize in advance that's not the case..  :thanks:

Me and my partner are planning to move to Lisbon at the beginning of next year.

I am a French Citizen, and as such will request my resident card when I get there in January

My partner is a UK citizen. We have been living together for 3 years, but we are not married, still I understand from SEF website that we can ask for what people would casually call a "reunification visa" - or in SEF terms a "RESIDENCE CARD  FOR A THIRD-COUNTRY NATIONAL WHO IS A FAMILY MEMBER OF CITIZEN OF UE/EEA/SWITZERLAND"

Indeed - on SEF website (specifically here : https://www.sef.pt/en/pages/conteudo-de … ID=22#div3) i read

"In case of persons living in partnership: 7. Birth certificates of both partners and documental evidence that they have been living in co-habitation for at least 2 years"

My question is : Does anyone know what kind of "documental" evidence is good enough ? Did anyone successfully apply for reunification in that context ?

I have tried to reach out to both SEF and various Portugal consulates unsucessfully, and am I getting very different answers from the lawyers I have been speaking to so far...

Any help would be really appreciated !

Thanks in advance !

How can a non-marital partnership be proved?

For the non-marital partnership to have any effect, it must be proved. For example, when you want to submit the personal income tax statement as a couple or get a social insurance payment if the other person dies, you need to prove that there is a non-marital partnership.

How to prove a non-marital partnership

The non-marital partnerships can be proved through a statement issued by the parish council. To request this statement, the couple must submit:

- a statement by both persons, under oath, indicating that they have been living in a non-marital partnership for more than two years;

- full copy certificates of each person's birth registrations.
