Roddie.....

Didn't you get fingerprinted, a retina scan, and face pics taken by the PF when you entered at the airport the first time with your permanent visa during processing ? I did all this at GIG back in 2017.

That is your biometrics.

Roddie and I have been fingerprinted so many times… 😳

Yes they are but I doubt they check those things. Each time I had a new resident card and traveled from Rio and back in through Sao Paulo or vice versa, each airport would take my card to go validate it. This happened three times for three resident cards. It's definitely not something that is smooth. If you have done biometrics that means they have gone through your passport and travels. Then if they come to verify your address, I don't see why they would bother anymore about it you have been out for 90 days which might not get to 90 days before they send it to MJSP.

I don't think this should be a cause for concern.

You’ll see me here crying if otherwise! Thanks for the reassurance!

01/28/25 @abthree Ok, I am finally out of the rock I`ve been living under for the last few years. What the heck is BIOMETRICS and what does it have to do with my Permanent Residency if anything....

It's the fingerprinting and photographing that are part of petitioning for naturalization as a Brazilian citizen.  Nothing that you have to worry about, unless for some reason you decide to take that step someday.

How many months does it usually take for the federal police to review the application and perform fingerprinting?

JNSQ86

In my case exactly 6 months to turn down my application and ask for additional documentation.  After that 2 more months to be called for biometrics.

@alirkhorshid

Depends on your location. Some cities are one week. Others months.

meiasdoglegs8f

@alirkhorshid

Took me almost 2 years in SP!

still waiting for a visit from PF, or the status to finally move to MJ. If it doesn’t happen before carnaval, it’s going to take ages!
