Hi,
I am Jayashanka Anushan from Sri Lanka. I am a software engineering graduate from London metropolitan university. Currently, I work as a technical officer at a Sri Lankan University and I would like to move to Northland for a job opportunity in the IT field.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Northland?  As in New Zealand, Northland?  You probably need to look around our New Zealand forum; this link will take you straight there.  My advice would be to go to my link, and then look at the Discover New Zealand guide (top left corner of the page).  Then if you have any further specific questions, then ask them in that forum.

I hope this helps.

@Julien My dream is to travel to Holland to create a new life and start competing in the new job. I want to gain some new skills, deal with new people, and have a new and very interesting experience.

CuriousTraveler

Greetings,

I am new to the Netherlands, Amsterdam, specifically, (4wks old in Amsterdam years). I'm trying to adjust but I find the whole thing a bit overwhelming. Hoping to connect with others on this website, or through other social functions. I moved here to be with my wife, who's been here for almost a year now.

Yoginee

Good Day

We are base in South-Africs but looking to move to the Netherlands in 2023. My husband and children (5 and 7) have dual passports.

As far as I understand I can apply for a visa facilitation and when we get there, I can apply for a residence permit, and then they will let me know if Im allowed to work. Has anyone been in this situation? Can it be so easy?

Can someone advise on how the Dutch children treat expats? They wil first attend a Taalschool to learn Dutch as their first language is Afrikaans and secondary English.

I am a pure Maths teacher up to Grade 12 with a 4 year Baccalaureate Degree and Level 5 accredited TEFL certified. Will my degree be accepted and which schools are the best to apply for a position as I don’t speak Dutch.

My husband owns his own Real Estate company with 20years experience in both commercial and industrial properties.

Looking forward to any advise

Anuradha Abeyratne

@jarele Hey, I am trying to move there in 2-3 months as well. What area are you moving to?

kumararhunga

@Julien Welcome

Given the current situation in Sri Lanka, it is difficult to imagine that there will be an environment suitable for living in the future. When I researched, I found that the Netherlands is a very peaceful country with people of high virtues. I intend to leave for the Netherlands with my only child and wife and am looking for a job to go there.

Hello friends,

I've an Irish male (41yr) who is moving to Amsterdam. I've just signed a lease for an apartment and move officially on 3rd Jan 2023 in which I'll also start work there in the city (international company so already working). Very excited to see the city and to hopefully meet new people/friends (moving by myself).

Cheers
