My wife and I got married last year, we are now living here in the Philippines, does anyone knows who can help us for my wife to get her US ITIN?

Since you are an American It's better to pursue a green card for her,  then a ss card which is preferable  to the ITIN.

Because I believe with the ITIN you have to apply through the IRS which does not have an office in the Philippines, so it may require sending important documents through snail mail and I would not use the Philippines postal system. Also it may require several exchanges of mail between the IRS and you.

A call, email or visit to the US Embassy probable can set you on the right path.

very well, yes we are already pursuing her green card as of now, thank you.

A side note: If you are filing one of the 1040's, even though your wife doesn't have a SS number, you can still file jointly (a small tax break) but you cannot use her as a deduction. You would list her as your wife but won't be able to include an ss number for her.

File jointly, if you're getting a tax refund, it will have both of your names on the check. (shows she is a taxpayer.)

Good morning, my fiancee is in Philippines and we are planning to get married. In this moment it's not allowed to travel with a turism visa, do you know if we could get married even if we are far or there is a way for me to enter since we ll get married? Maybe it's easier to let her come to my country instead, I really don't know. Could you give me some advice please?

pseudo_sweety

Regardless of the choices you will make. Other way around, it's still a long process. I will not recommend you to process the paper here in the Philippines due to delay of some government offices in processing due to covid. Prioritize the processing in your country so your fiancee can get a fiancee visa.

Thank you  :)

Some have solved it by marry through INTERNET, which they make in Utah, USA.  Then show the marriage certificate when you apply to get to the Philippines to unite with your wife.  At least it has functioned when they made application through Filipino Embassy in USA.  I dont know any of them but some have shown proof of success at Youtube.

Thank you so much, I ll inquire about online marriage. I don't know if it's allowed in my country

Might be worth the flight to Guam to take care of some paperwork. Also if you are ex military you can use their post office which is safe and cheap?

Coach the gentleman lives in Italy, the bride to be in the Philippines, internet marriage in Utah?

Maybe a marriage on the Jerry Springer show by Reverend Shnorr would work.

I don't know the prerequisite requirements for internet marriages in Utah are, if international marriages are allowed and legally accepted who knows what is next.

What's Next: Internet divorces, how about a package deal, internet divorce and internet marriage, inclusive two for one deal.

Maybe somebody in Timbuktu or in Nigeria will start to offer internet marriages. After that no need for a marriage, just buy a fake certificate of marriage. You can buy a fake anything including legal stuff or even Nobility titles on internet. I personally can't decide between Duke, Lordship, Count or Prince or available.

Please address me as Lord Enzyte Bob.

No need with fake title.  I can claim king of almost all European countries and even pharaoh of Egypt by (bastard) blood lines   :)
Everyone at least from Europe can by it was common European aristocrats made maids pregnant and aristocrats married bastard lines of kings. The hard part is to find the first aristocrat connection, the rest is just much work. (Or nowadays just join a network, in which other people have done the research allready. I havent joined because that would be giving away my thousands of hours of work for free to even rich people   :)

I don't need bloodlines, for a small fee I downloaded my title and a Certificate of Authenticity. You can do the same King Coach.

I can see a future where there are no-fault internet marriages that are for one year at a time; no need to get a fake certificate

Puddman

So much for "death do us part". Everything is disposable these days.

Good to see we have royalty in the forum.

That's a new one on me "no-fault internet marriage"?  There are no-fault divorces & no-fault auto insurance, but no-fault marriages?

If I try to comprehend your post, marriage as a one year contract that expires unconditionally?

Maybe meeting somebody on internet then getting an internet marriage qualifies "stupidity" as
a no-fault marriage.

Sincerely yours,
Lord Enzyte

I'm from Oregon, but I lived in Pasadena, Texas for 12 years as it was much easier to get my 18 Wheeler loaded. I'm now living in The Philippines.

The people here love a party. I've been here almost 4 years. My name is Rob and I live in Cebu City near the Airport.

To the OP,

if you are living here now and plan on staying then the ITIN Is not that hard to submit and process...I did it myself from here...been a few years back so You just need a little research on the correct form...if i remember correctly it was just the applicaction form, Marriage contract, and passport, it was sent with that years tax returns  via dhl, they will process the ITIN first then apply to that year return, she will have a ITIN assigned from then on. Just use a US address for easy correspondence with IRS and have a relative/friend as a go between with there address, at least thats what I did...Make sure Passport has her updated married Name
