Hi,

I have a house near Popovo I a small village "Doletz". I bought this place 20 years ago.
It's a very quiet area, friendly neighborhood.
Popovo is a small town in the middle of nothing (between Ruse and Turgovichte), Have you been there ??

Morning. I am going to Bulgaria in April. I am looking for a property roughly an hours drive from Burgas / Burgas Airport. Reason for this is so I can come to Bulgaria more to the house I buy without having to spend too much time on travelling. Could anyone advise on some good villages (peaceful quiet and friendly. Hopefully somewhere that I won't arrive to and find the house cleared out while not there. Low crime rate.
Cheers Graham

I agree, it's always good to have easy access to the airport!

But there are cheap international flights at Varna, Plovdiv and Sofia too.

Also "limo service" is surprisingly inexpensive here. I remember getting occasional taxis from Heathrow (to London destination, not outside), and they cost a small fortune. Our Spanish apartment (in Elche) is only 10 minutes from Alicante-Elche Airport, and regular taxis still hit me for 25-30 euros.

Here (from Plovdiv) I routinely get a ride to/from Sofia airport, which is typically 1.5-2 hours. They have water and wifi in an up-scale air-conditioned car, and it's door-to-door, and they'll hang out at the airport if the flight is delayed. This is 60 euros each way. It's especially good for the anti-social Wizzair/Ryanair schedules, you can just sleep in the car.

Airport parking is also way cheaper, and the motorways far less crowded, than what we're used to in the UK, so for a week or so I just drive myself. It's never taken me more than 2 hours to Sofia Airport, regardless of time of day. In the bad old days, I had to budget for a possible 2 hours just on the M25 to Gatwick or Heathrow! And then their parking would usually cost significantly more than the flight!

hi ,
We have a house in village of Prilep, 80 km from Burgas.
It's a nice village with forest around and beautiful setting .

It's a low crime rate village. no bars in windows :)
My husband spent over month searching for the right village.
