Current Visa Extension Situation for Australians

I am an Australian currently staying in Da Nang, Vietnam on a 30 day eVisa.

I would like to stay in Vietnam for a few months or maybe longer.

I do not intend to work here and I am financially independent.

Can anyone tell me what my current visa extension options are or suggest how to get this info.

As of today, you must apply for a new eVisa, leave the country before your current eVisa expires and reenter with your new eVisa.

Unless you have about $130,000.00 USD available and want to apply for an Investor TRC.

Or marry a Vietnamese woman

As usual, Viet Nam has to complicate its visa system.

I think you are right, Peter, though there are a few people on Face.book reporting they have successfully applied for and been approved for their next eVisa while still in Vietnam on their initial eVisa.

Most people are reporting it's impossible for them to apply and get approval while still in Vietnam.

I'm guessing that those who are having success might be using a VPN (technically illegal) to mask their location.

@OceanBeach92107 That is what my agent has quoted. Looking forward to getting back to VN tho' the thought of a 15-20 hour layover in Singapore is disheartening.
