Hello,
I arrive in Mid-August in Budapest, and am staying in Buda, near the castle. I would like to do some home cooking, and would appreciate info on local markets or supermarkets in the vicinity (1 mile or so) of the castle area, as well as any tips on where I might be able to purchase some vegetarian, non-fat, fat-free or similar items.  I do not eat meat, but do eat chicken and fish.  I'm interested in fruits, vegetables, and so on.  Any recommendations on foods for my medically-recommended diet are appreciated--be they stores or restaurants.  Thank you!

I don't live in Budapest but I order things on this website and have them shipped to the store in Budapest and then pick them up. It worth talking a look at if you like organic food.

HI,
Take some time and walk around the place you live.  There are fruit and vegetables stores on every block as well as bakeries.
A large market near you in Buda would be the Feny utca market , very close to Moskva Ter and Mammuth shopping center. IN Mammuth 1 Shopping Center there is a large bio-store ( health food) which sells many organic products. I would be surprised if you can not find what you need for your diet. My daughter has IBS and gluten problems and we find anything she needs here . Contact me if you need more help.

What is the name of the store in Mammut 1, please.  Been to severla places, not sure which part of Mammut 1 it is.  Thanks--and I have been buying very good fruit and some veggies at several open air stands as well as at Match.  pg
