To enter Cambodia you need;
Proof of vaccination
Visa or valid extension of stay
Passport
No requirement to leave Cambodia, check the requirements of the destination country.

Thanks for checking this, OB. However I think J.K.'s reply to you is not entirely exhaustive.
Though not practical in terms of a Visa run, I do believe one can enter Cambodia as a nonvaccinated traveller provided one is prepared to do a 7 day quarantine at a gov't approved facility (pre-paid, with proof of booking).

I could be wrong about this. I've been wrong before. One time I thought I was wrong about something, but it turned out I was right :)

Hi guys,

I'm on 30 Day e-visa here in HCMC.
Need to do border run at Moc Bai
  • Do I need (or is it better) to get the E-visa for both Vietnam and Cambodia before heading to the border? or it would be Okay for VOA Visa on Arrival ?
  • I'm not vaccinated I know there wouldn't be any problem from Vietnamese side as I entered into the country about 25 days ago with no question asked, but regarding Cambodia I know a negative Covid test result is Ok. does anyone know about very recent update or any new requirement that you may encountered at the border?
  • prior to the entry Vietnam at HCM's airport I bought a health insurance as part of requirements but no one asked if I have one, now I'm not sure if I have to get the health insurance or not...
Any updates from you guys would be greatly appreciated1f44d.svg

Hi there. Though this is from Hatien, VN - Kampot, Cam., it should be applicable to Moc Bai - Bavet.
He purchased a VOA, as it was slightly cheaper.
Like you, he is also nonvaccinated. He did not bring with him a negative result PCR or RAT, and was not asked for one. I remember reading with him that a "test" would be available at the Cambodian border for ~$5.00 USD. He was not asked to provide a sample, nor was he charged the $5.00. There may be more info available on the Cambodian eVisa site regarding this.
No health insurance required at the border, in either direction.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, that's a little dated though. Quarantine is no longer required for nonvaccinated visitors.

All you need now is a visa (eVisa or VOA), passport, and a bit of cash for the VN - Cam border run :)

As of 3 August the Cambodian authorities required me to show my record of vaccination before entering Cambodia.

As I've mentioned numerous times, this discussion really needs to take place in the Cambodia forum where people who actually live there can give current advice

To determine whether a RAT test was to be administered, I assume?
They may have requested it, but to do a VN to Cam border run it is definitely not required

But the header on this VN thread is "Border Run Requirements Vietnam/Cambodia", which you started. Why no further discussion?
And what would people who live there know about doing a VN to Cam border run?

@Aidan in HCMC Thanks a million for your kind, patience and informative reply..it's kinda hard to find a right topic about what I was looking for in this forum.
Definitely I'll post my current and up-to-date experience here 👍

Again, you missed the intent of the OP, since it isn't your responsibility or practice to consider the bigger picture in the VIETNAM forum.

I started THIS thread to refer discussions of this topic (the requirements in Cambodia) back to the Cambodia forum (read the OP again) as everytime this subject came up, people were turning the threads into discussions about Cambodia, which belong in the Cambodia forum.

That's exactly when it's required.

If you doubt my first-person account about this, again I suggest that you find your answer on the Cambodia forum, where the forum expert definitely knows the requirements for entry into his country.
