Retirement in Scotland

Hello,

Next year i Will be retired and it was a dream to emigrate to Scotland. Is there any way this is possible as a retired couple?

@Klara Niema the rules have changed since Brexit. You can come for 6 months as a tourist and gather information whilst here. I came to Scotland from England 8 years ago and definitely don’t regret it.

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

Assuming you have no previous entitlement, it sounds harsh, but the UK does not offer retirement style visas to anybody.  The only way to live in the UK in retirement is to have been here before on some kind of work visa, then apply for permanent residence after 5 years, this will then roll into retirement.

I came to the same conclusing, hoped you had some good news.

The only way around this is it guess to move to ireland to gain the Irish nationality and then there is opportunity to get the Scottish nationality if u not mistaken

If you have Irish nationality then you will be able to live anyway in the UK without any issue or need to get Scottish nationality.
