Does anyone have any advice about the easiest and most cost effective way to extend the 30day e visa by 30 days. I'm assuming you have to leave the country. Only answers from people who have actually done it recently...I'm looking at options like return flight to Singapore etc.

Thanks

From where?

Options are totally different based on your location.

You are correct in your assumption that there are no in-country extensions of 30-day eVisas

@OceanBeach92107 most likely from HCMC but if I could utilise Cam Ranh airport that would be better but I'm not sure if they fly international from there without a stop over in HCMC. This whole 30 day E visa thing sucks...but I suppose 95% of tourists are happy to travel for less than 30 days.

Though I haven't done these myself I have walked my nonvaccinated friend, visiting from Canada, through his border run options. He opted for Thailand.

Thailand (cheapest option)

Cambodia

Laos

Previous & best post from @pogiwayne who has actually done it. He is flying in & out to Cambodia as detailed. If you are looking to save money the Moc Bai crossing will be best I think especially if you have your own moto. If not hop on a bus!!

GOB….
I have received 3 evisas. And to summarize several of your questions I had no problems coming into VN. The first time had to do the Covid test on arrival. The other two no test.
I went to Cambodia each time flying. I did evisa for Cambodia and printed it out. Easy in and out of Cambodia.
For VN visa stamps I have in and out twice on one page. Third is on a separate page. Cambodia all stamps on one page.

Looks like only 1 land border crossing from VN to Cambodia will accept e-Visa for entry.

Bavet (Svay Rieng)(Cambodia side) .......................is Moc Bai, (Vietnam side) land crossing Vietnam to Cambodia & in the past certainly was one of the most popular one for visa runs for people living in HCMC & others. HCMC to the border crossing from where I live (Tan Phu) takes about an hour by motorbike. On the way if you have never done it you can take in the famous Cu Chi tunnels, pass through Trang Bang (famous for the photo of napalm girl & not so famous previous home village of goodolboy) & over the border have a flutter at Mini Las Vegas Casino's easy within walking distance from the border crossing on the Cambodia side.

so are the Vietnam E visas date specific for your 30 days or can you use it within a certain time frame, for eg its valid for 3 months and your 30 days starts upon entry ?

@panda7
Valid from the date of entry stated on the e-Visa, for 30 days. If you wait for 2 weeks after date of entry stated, you will have only 16 days remaining.
