Hello Princessdi,

Do you have more information that you can share with Aysha Ismail?
Cheers,

Hi everyone! I am in the same situation had
my interview in May and my contract in November and nothing further still. My agency told me ESE trying to get teachers started by January 23rd! But I believe it when I see it.
this job better be worth it, so far it’s been such a nightmare, I had to quit my job ( as they require a reference letter with the finishing date on your current job) I’ve trusted them to start working in September so I quit in late august and nothing happened until now. And because I worked in a foreign country I am going through so many issues with legal status and apartment rent.
I don’t think anyone around me actually believes this job is even real anymore.
this whole process is depressing and draining.
Hopefully this job will actually happen
@natalie18449 I am sooooo sorry. I can’t begin to imagine your anxiety. Quitting a job is never easy but keep the faith that it will happen soon with ESE. You probably exited your job too early. I think this forum is so needed to help us to stay in the now with ESE. I guess all who went before experienced the same journey.
Wow … just Wowwwww …. I feel it for you. The good thing is you got a definite start date!
What a thing…..
I wasn’t asked about any end date of employment! I am a permanently employed teacher in my county so I guess that’s why. That’s the thing I told them I didn’t want them to contact my principal too early. I don’t have issues with Jon security but other internal school issues can arise when they know a person is planning on leaving .
So sorry to hear of your current situation
My agency sent me a specific reference letter from where I had to specify end date of employment or expected end day. And of course I had to go to my boss asking for it and he rightfully so asked for a 1 month notice! In which my agency said quote “ I see no reason for you not to start by September 1st” so I left my notice in the mid July. And needless to say nothing happened yet.
I got my contract in November still waiting on any further updates.

That sounds awful!
I really hope we all get an update soon...

@natalie18449 I am in awe that they told you about an anticipated START date of September month BEFORE you got your final contract which you got in November. What agency is this? I feel your pain...this is unbelievably sad!
@Princessdi
Edvectus
hmmmmm
Worldteachers did no such thing. They told
memabout resignation AFTER I got final contract. I signed late November and they even advised me to time resignation properly to not be out of salary for too long since they anticipate a January start
@Princessdi well let’s hope that the January start actually happens
Hi,
Hi,
Has anyone joined ESE schools today; the first day of term 2,
Has anyone joined ESE today, the first e
No… Seems like we are all awaiting further information.
@kh.Be No word as yet. I still await
I received an email saying that no start dates have been set as of yet. 🤦♀️
@hi.sonia
I wonder what's causing the delay... They seem to have sent final contracts to a bunch of people in late November, but now, more than a month later, it's suddenly a "we don't know when you'll be joining" situation.
@Narcas Possibly now crunching the numbers and they have over-placement taking place, like duplicate placements. They said that each teacher is matched to a vacancy. I have been taking quiet note of the number of teachers on this trend who received contracts. They claim that a lot of teachers are needed but one person said 25 teachers were in her batch. That is an extremely small number.
Possibly it has something to do with the reorganization of their training programme. IT SURELY CANNOT BE AN ISSUE WITH FUNDING. They have more money than the grains of sand in their deserts!
I keep hearing that each aspect of the recruitment process is managed by a different department. We are down to visas and booking flights!
Did you fill out your travel details on a form sent from ESE? They even asked about which airport I was flying out of and my inflight meal preference.
Whole thing is so confusing!
@Princessdi
Actually, I was thinking the opposite might have happened, i.e. some teachers just didn't show up after the winter break, so now they need MORE of us. Therefore, they decided to quickly process more applications and then bring a bigger batch later in the year, so that they don't have to arrange two training sessions in a short period of time.
But I guess we'll never know what's actually going on there ...
Yes, I've provided the flight details, and that's why I thought January start was a done deal and said goodbye to most of my students.
I don’t even think it has to do with positions being filled or not. I seriously don’t even understand how does it work. If they have a specific number of positions available for foreign teachers would make sense to keep them for it. But who will cover it in the meantime? Local teachers? And then when we come they just fire them all?
It also doesn’t seem to matter what is your job title. As most popular usually English, Science, Math and Social Studies ( correct me if I’m wrong) and I would have understood if those teachers have to wait longer because there are too many of them. But it’s clearly not the case because I am a female PE teacher which is incredibly rare but definitely doesn’t give me any fast track at all.
@Narcas I couldnt have said it better ....We would never know what the real deal is .......
Personally, I don’t think we will begin working this term. Maybe next term.
@hi.sonia Pleaseeeeee !!! I havent taken my HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE MEDS for the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next term you say :0
Wow.... that's quite a long wait to get in. Wonder how many people can hold this long. If its a guarantee then some will hold on. If not....hmmmm
Hi does anybody joined in January 2023..if so please let me know how long we should wait after receiving the initial contract?
@teenacyril Hi there. Firstly, reading the trend will help to fill gaps, however, it would appear that no new teachers have assumed duties in 2023.
Secondly, are you asking about the waiting period between the initial offer and the final contract? If yes, the answer is that it varies widely from person to person based on feedback provided here. I got my initial offer letter at the end of September and my Final contract at the end of November.
Hope this helps to answer your question.
My wife has an online assessment with them next week.
Is there anyway to do a practice test for early years/primary
Hi. Have you guys started teaching with ESE yet? Any update that you may share to this group? Thanks a mil. x @princessdi @natalie18449 @narcas
I got my offer on 7 July. The contract came on 16 September. My recruiter said the orientation and mobilization team will start with visas and flights, and the next orientation is to start on 16 October.
I haven’t heard from anyone since. I’m sure I won’t be there on 16 Oct.
I need to email my recruiter on Monday
-@Teacher dM
