Poipet and Rong Kluea Markets - Cambodia Border - information please

Hi,

Could anyone please give me some advice on the Poipet Markets and
the Rong Kluea market or Talat Rong Kluea markets on the border of Thailand and Cambodia.

Would be leaving from Bangkok, is it worth buying clothing here or am i best to continue buying from Pratunam (Siam)

Is there much savings?

Is it safe now on the border?

Best way to get there?

The distance between the 2 markets?

Would love any help

Thankyou so much

Rachael

hello
be happy to assist

The Golden Gate market is in Arayapratet
It is great for wholesale clothing, sunglasses, nicknacks, Faux handbags, T shirts, and stuff like that.

However, you do need to be good at BARTERING - the locals do sell to a lot of THAIS that go there. And the Thais go there because they know how to get a cheaper price.

But there are certain ways the Thais get the cheaper price.
For one - they dress rather scruffy...
Yep, its all about psychology when it comes to bartering, and if they see you wearing a diamond ring or a nice original brand name and a dozen bags. Then you will get nothing but a price that reflects your status.

The same applies when bartering in Thailand
Your skin will affect your sale price
But with lots of smiles, a tired look, and softly spoken>
Then a possible slow turn around and walk away.
You will be sure to eventually get a few deals to your liking

Good Luck
p.s. i prefer Pratunam because its really hot down on the border.
