  • Anyone with information on acquiring this "certificate of good behavior" I'd appreciate a reply.  Some  background.  I was told by a 3rd party that a complaint was filed against me in Santo Domingo East.  Upon receiving this I contacted a lawyer who said yes a complaint was made. I contacted an attorney who said yes a claim was made.  Since then two more attorneys have told me no complaint was made. Additionally a friend visited Santo Domingo East and told me no complaint was made.  The first attorney asked for a lot of money the other two have checked into this and have not asked for a dime.

Sorry to hear this.  I have not had any issues nor heard of anyone with issues. Please keep us posted.  Hopefully someone will know  how to help you. I will ask Lishali to have a look.

@Ykr716 yes one attorney sent me there. I don't have an ID card. The attorney sent me there. I don't recall why I was unsuccessful but the attorney allowed me to use that site using his phone number IIRC.

@planner thanks so much. I really need  trustworthy/knowledgeable assistance

Can someone elaborate on what “Certificado de buena conducta” is??
rlwoodz

@polo1club I'll give it a try. It's a DR government service that allows people to generate a certification that clears them of legal process in action against them. It's usec for example as a government verified background check.  Anyone who can add or correct what I've written, please do

It is also used when getting residence thru DGM  https://personal.migracion.gob.do/
ie: go to Banko reserva pay a small fee for the “Certificado de buena conducta.
Then go to the Court house and provide the proff of payment. (In puerto Plata its the first floor.

If you don't have a cédula (national or resident), you'll require a copy of your passport.

As a foreigner it gets processed thru Santo Domingo and may take up to 7 business days to process.

If you require assistance with this, DM me.
rlwoodz

@RetMilitary1 i would love to be there to do it. Unfortunately I won't enter the country till I have it. It's a long story.

rlwoodz

@Titus Krause I may require assistance. I can DM you if you're ok with that. I can provide details there.

rlwoodz

@RetMilitary1 I tried that link. It failed. It may require a DR IP address which I can get but haven't done so yet.

rlwoodz

@Ykr716 the link works...I've used that before..since I have no cedula an attorney must do it for me or I must be present

polo1club

Thank you all for the information. So if I have a cedula (which I do!) I really do not have to worry about this??

planner

You do on renewal of your residencia!

rlwoodz

@planner @Titus Krause is working on this for me.

Anyone who needs the document can easily do this themselves. They first  pay the 600 RD fee for the document at Banreservas and then go to their closest office that issue the document.

The on line site may expedite this for legal residents and citizens, or provide one that is not legalized,  because they have a cedula, but those with just a passport will have to do this all in person at the office and wait for the result if need be.  Any time I have needed it , the legalized version was necessary so I would have needed to visit the office where they print it in moments for me.

That said, this document is needed all too frequently for various reasons and should just be readily available on line for any other government office to see after entering your cedula number (or passport)  without having to force people to get a hard copy each time.  Time for the DR to realize computers can be networked and such information be made available throughout the government offices that need to see it.  Maybe some day, but for now, you have to do the footwork,,,,

rlwoodz

@windeguy yes if I were there I'd do as you said. Problem is I need to be there but won't go until I get this.  Titus Kraus has been working this for me and I await the results.

Just for info - In Aug I was attempting to "get things done" and went direct to Immigration offices. The short story is that there is a Yellow Bus parked within 2 blocks of Immigration - past the parking lot - and it is a mobile internet service where they printed off my Certificate....took more time to walk there from the Banreservas out the back door of Immigration (I paid there and they directed me to the bus - I paid their 300 peso fee (and tipped well for the service)..

rlwoodz

@2VPsoldier good info. I'm not in the country so I needed to get help from an attorney.

rlwoodz

@Titus Krause everyone interested...Titus took care of this for me as I'm out of the country and I very much appreciate his help.

@Oscarsahony Sanchez ... A big thank you to you also.
