Christmas market: Support local artisans

A few Christmas markets will be held this weekend, the last before Christmas. These events are gaining in popularity year after year as they allow you to avoid the big crowds of the shopping malls and are an opportunity to privilege local craftsmen.

La Terre des 7 couleurs - Chamarel 

This is the first edition of the Christmas market of La Terre des 7 couleurs in Chamarel.  The event is spread over two days, this Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. The objective is to promote 100% local products and to highlight the artisans of the region. This Christmas market will also raise funds for a charity event that will take place in April 2023.

You can find the perfect Christmas gift by browsing the stalls of the ten exhibitors present during the two days. You can choose from artisanal cosmetics, jewelry, local honey, wood and macramé art, children's toys and many other gifts to place for your Christmas stocking.

There will also be music, face-painting for children and various food stalls. The entrance fee is Rs 125 for adults and Rs 75 for children.

Cascavelle Christmas Market

The Christmas market is back at the Cascavelle shopping center. It will take place this Saturday from 11 am to 8 pm. A plethora of activities is planned: Santa Claus and his elves will be on site from noon to 8 p.m. and activities for children are also scheduled and Nathalie & Patrick Laverdure, Ophelie Sauteur, Elis Santana and Chanice and her choir are expected to perform.

Seven exhibitors will also be present in the food corner. Namely Atelier Maya, Zazoo.jo, Taiyaki Treats, Bark and Go pup cake, Yehos, Nathalie Quessy and the very popular Mr BAO.

The products offered have been classified in different categories. Thus, you will have the choice between 12 exhibitors selling jewelry and accessories, beauty and decoration, garden equipment, toys for children and fishing equipment.

Les Allées d'Helvetia

An annual event at Les Allées d'Helvetia, the Christmas market is expected by regulars. This year, the market has been scheduled over three days, this Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 1 pm. You will have the opportunity to discover the different exhibitors of local products. Activities are also scheduled for young and old. The weekend promises to be festive at the Allées d'Helvetia. The entrance is free.

Albion Christmas Market

Head to the West Island for the 6th edition of the Albion Christmas Market, which will take place this Saturday evening from 5 to 10 pm. The event is held at the green space of the Morcellement Terres d'Albion. 30 exhibitors will offer various products at highly competitive prices. A foodies corner has also been set up. On top of this, activities for children and music will allow you to spend a pleasant evening with your family in the Christmas spirit. Admission is free.

Christmas Fair, Coeur de ville Tamarin

The Coeur de ville Tamarin shopping complex is also getting into the Christmas spirit with its Christmas Fair which takes place over three days, Saturday from 9:30 am to 8 pm, Sunday from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm and Monday from 9:30 am to 8 pm. On the program: exhibitors of local products such as jewelry, clothing and even cosmetics, decorations and much more. The public will be able to taste various menus proposed by the exhibitors. Moreover, the Food Avenue offers some 25 exhibitors.

With the end of the year celebrations approaching, these Christmas markets represent a great opportunity to make good deals and save a little money. It is also an opportunity to discover products that are not offered elsewhere.
