The rental market in Mumbai
The rental market in Mumbai offers a wide range of housing options, but it's important to know that prices in the city are higher than many other major Indian cities. Moreover, the owners ask for deposit money while signing the rental agreement. The rental price generally varies from one neighbourhood to another. Expect an average of INR 32,752 per month for a single-bedroom apartment located in the center and an average of INR 18,000 per month for the same type of accommodation in the outskirts. The prices in some upscale locations can even go as high as INR 50-70,000 per month for a single-bedroom apartment.
The rates will differ largely if you choose bigger accommodation. For instance, a three-bedroom apartment in the city-centre will cost you an average of INR 90,000 per month and around INR 40-50,000 per month in the outskirts.
Unlike other cities, you will not find villas in Mumbai. However, there are options for furnished studio apartments in different neighbourhoods. Rental prices vary depending upon the location.
