Job Overview: The Agricultural Consultant will provide expert guidance and support to farming operations, agribusinesses, and government bodies in Israel. The role involves leveraging in-depth knowledge of agricultural practices, crop management, and sustainable farming techniques to improve productivity, optimize resource use, and enhance overall farm profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
Consultation and Advisory:
Provide technical advice on crop selection, soil health, irrigation practices, and pest management to maximize yield and quality.
Develop and implement sustainable farming strategies, focusing on water conservation, organic farming, and climate-resilient practices.
Research and Development:
Conduct field research to identify innovative agricultural technologies and practices that can be applied in local farming contexts.
Collaborate with research institutions, universities, and industry partners to pilot new techniques and evaluate their effectiveness.
Training and Capacity Building:
Organize and conduct training workshops for farmers, agronomists, and other stakeholders to disseminate best practices and modern farming techniques.
Develop educational materials and resources to support ongoing learning and development in the agricultural sector.
Market and Economic Analysis:
Analyze market trends and economic factors affecting the agricultural industry in Israel.
Advise clients on the best practices for accessing new markets, improving supply chains, and enhancing the value of agricultural products.
Compliance and Regulatory Support:
Ensure that farming operations comply with local and international agricultural regulations and standards.
Assist clients in obtaining necessary certifications and adhering to environmental and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field.
Extensive experience in agricultural consulting or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of Israeli agricultural practices, climate, and regulatory environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Proficiency in Hebrew and English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in sustainable farming practices and organic agriculture.
Familiarity with agricultural technologies such as precision farming, drone usage, and advanced irrigation systems.
Strong analytical skills for conducting research and interpreting data.
Work Environment:
The role will involve both office work and extensive field visits to various agricultural sites across Israel.
