Vietnamese language by Guestposter822

just wondering what some of your experiences are learning the Vietnamese language, how long did it take, is it hard to learn, best way to learn ? etc. I know a tiny bit like the numbers and a few basic sentences.

For me, this is one of the most frustrating things. I will learn words well enough for my in-laws to understand me, but then I will try to speak with Viet Kieu, they will give me a blind stare and ask my wife. The frustration is compounded by the ... Read More

I am a 53 years old divorced Caucasian male from the USA. I really enjoy my life here in Vietnam. Been traveling a lot and it seems that a recurring theme has developed whenever I meet someone I am interested in. Please bear in mind that I do not ...

If you don't want to go back to America then that's a pretty good way to fend off any ladies that want to marry you for the visa. You might be limiting your dating chances but at least she would not be marrying you for that reason if you manage to ... Read More

Welcome to the forum Pi. Do you pronounce Pi like 'Pie' or 'Pee'? I'm a bit worried for you there. I'm not sure if Vietnamese locals are aware that there is an English equivalent to every Vietnamese name for English speakers. It is not expected of ... Read More
