Too old? by JimNorman

I was forced to retire at age 75 and am disabled. Is this too much of a challenge to relocate now?

Laurel

It depends on many things. How disabled are you? Are you alone or do you have someone to help you? Where in Costa Rica do you want to live? How much money do you have to relocate and to live monthly. I don’t think it’s out of the ... Read More

Laurel

Are you already pregnant? My understanding is it take quite awhile to get on CAJA. I could be wrong. That aside, public hospitals in CR have a close to 80% c-section rate. Many do not allow husbands in for the birth. Some still tie your legs ... Read More

Sherry moved back to the US. She and I were both communicating and met up in CR. I still go back and forth. If you have lived in Bali, you will probably do fine in CR. It is not an easy place for a single woman to live. Depending on where in ... Read More

bringing seeds into Costa Rica by lauramacpherson

We will be in Costa Rica for 4 months. I wanted to grow some veggies and herbs while we are there. Does anyone know if you are allowed to bring unopened seed packets from the US into Costa Rica? Thanks. Laura

Laurel

I know they will make their way there. Especially if we aid in it or don't do anything about it. Many countries have banned GMO seeds. Read More

Please do not bring in seeds from US! Most are GMO. One of the things I love about CR is the great tasting fruits and veggies. We started tomatoe plants from seeds from local tomatoes. Do you really want the beautiful looking but not very tasty ... Read More

I totally agree with Dave. You really have to live in Costa Rica for awhile to know if you will like it. It is definitely not for everyone. It is an amazing adventure but not for anyone easily discouraged, impatient, or not willing to live and ... Read More
