Too old? by JimNorman
I was forced to retire at age 75 and am disabled. Is this too much of a challenge to relocate now?
It depends on many things. How disabled are you? Are you alone or do you have someone to help you? Where in Costa Rica do you want to live? How much money do you have to relocate and to live monthly. I don’t think it’s out of the ... Read More

Are you already pregnant? My understanding is it take quite awhile to get on CAJA. I could be wrong. That aside, public hospitals in CR have a close to 80% c-section rate. Many do not allow husbands in for the birth. Some still tie your legs ... Read More

bringing seeds into Costa Rica by lauramacpherson
We will be in Costa Rica for 4 months. I wanted to grow some veggies and herbs while we are there. Does anyone know if you are allowed to bring unopened seed packets from the US into Costa Rica? Thanks. Laura
I know they will make their way there. Especially if we aid in it or don't do anything about it. Many countries have banned GMO seeds. Read More

Please do not bring in seeds from US! Most are GMO. One of the things I love about CR is the great tasting fruits and veggies. We started tomatoe plants from seeds from local tomatoes. Do you really want the beautiful looking but not very tasty ... Read More

Yes, housing can still be a real bargain but food is high, gas is high, electronics are high, household goods and personal items are high. Since utilities seem to be jumping up too, that makes it harder and harder to make it. Yes, I know that is ... Read More
