Moving to Germany by gerdmyburgh
Hi, everybody, I need some advice, as the German consulates here in South Africa are not very helpful. Friendly, yes, but expect of me to come up with the plans and they'd tell me if it is ok or not. There are some interesting properties to be ...
The German embassy cannot tell you, if you can apply for a Long-term Visa? Could they tell you, if you can own property as a Non-EU resident? One way to stay in Germany longer is to find a job and get a Visa that way, but that's probably not part ... Read More
Its a life without dignity in Kuwait by sherafghan
Im a highly skilled IT professional whos had the misfortune to spend some horrid time in Kuwait and I wish to share my experience here so that those contemplating a move to Kuwait can make an informed decision on whether or not this is really a ...
Nobody says the people that complain don't enjoy other parts of the country. And honestly, I don't see why people should not bitch and whine here if it makes them feel better and if they maybe get some reasonable input of what other choices they ... Read More

A PS. to the respect part: I had to tell off three Asian women a few weeks back in Fahaheel. One was cutting in in front of me and two told the cashiers 'Just a minute' because they needed to finish a phone call. Needless to say that I lost ... Read More

Sadly that description fits for the Life of Asian Expats here as far as I can tell. Most men these days stay far enough away from me, maybe because I have trained my 'I'm gonna kick you where it hurts' look. But that just doesn't work with Asian ... Read More

Hi Again, Can anyone tell me if 500 KD/month would suffice for accomodations for a family? It's really hard to tell by searching properties online. So I would appreciate any responses from people already there. Thank you again - and sorry for ...
Re the bigger rooms, maybe Best check for some Villa floors in Mangaf. The Villas are usually spacier than the apartm. and the prices are still not too bad. I had a site before that was pretty good for rentals, but I lost the link :( No children ... Read More

How many kids do you have? We are in a 3 bedroom ap. in Mangaf., decent size for 380KD incl. furniture and utilities. You can get it cheaper in Mahboula or Fintas, but the area is (in my opinion) worse than Mangaf. It's easier for shopping groceries ... Read More

Tiny kitchens! by symboliser
OK, I now believe there is some kind of business-conspiracy going on in Kuwait. Have you noticed how small kitchens are in all the two and three bedroom apartments in new (less than five years old) buildings? They seem to be designed for people to ...
It must be :) We have the same problem in our holiday home (haha - but it is one) in Hungary. Nobody wants to cook there, so they made the kitchen tiny. But one gets used to it :) Read More
One month in Kuwait and would like to know what to expect. by bnlfan
I will be coming to Kuwait soon to work for one month and will likely be staying in Mangaf. While I will be working 12 hours a day 6 days per week, I will have one day a week off (maybe). What I would like to know is what should I expect while ...
I wouldn't bring books about Tarot and Witchcraft ;) But other than that any fiction Novel is fine - they don't check books at the airport. Do you need to know anything about Mangaf? I live here since a while. Let me know if you need help with ... Read More
Irish Session in Kuwait? by Tesserkate
Moving to Kuwait in May for a few months. I can survive the heat, the culture shock, the crazy driving, but there is ONE thing I can't live without, and that's a good Irish session. I play traditional Irish fiddle. Anyone know whether one exists? ...
