@MarkinNam It's often not the fees but the exchange rate a bank charges that kill you.All my business banking in Oz is with NAB and I wouldn't dream of using them for currency exchange (assuming that was what u were chasing). Read More

@expat97 WISE dont give cash delivered to your door. They give you a multi currency debit card but their fees and exchange rates are modestly better than Hai Ha. You cam also load up the VN sub account when exchange rates are favourable etc. Read More

What I have found out is that law changes over a year ago preclude joint accounts between VN and foreigners regardless of marital status or any other criteria. Tried a number of banks including those suggested and HSBC. Read More

IDP 1949 not recognized by the Vietnamese police by TyNg
During my recent trip to Vietnam, I was stopped by the Vietnamese police and learned that my IDP 1949 is not valid in Vietnam. Are there solutions to this problem, besides getting an IDP 1968 which is not possible for a US citizen? thanks!
