Finding a place to live is a priority when settling in Brittany. Your experience will be of a great help for the members who want to settle in Brittany.

Therefore, we have prepared some questions for you:

Is it hard to find a flat or a house for rent in Brittany?

How to find a home in Brittany: classifieds, real estate portals, real estate agencies?

How much is the rental for a house, an apartment?

What are the formalities or the required documents for renting an accommodation?

Which advice would you give?

Thanks in advance for participating!

Hello,

We recently found a long term house to rent in Brittany. I recommend looking online under a general search of "location" or "immobilier" and the name of the city. Each site has their own listings; there is not 1 comprehensive website with all rental listings.

I also recommend hitting the pavement and visiting real estate agencies in person. Most will have available rentals posted outside, but go inside and inquire, sometimes nicer homes won't be listed.

It depends what area you're looking in and what type of listing. Most properties will not have kitchen appliances, but some do. The upfront fees can be high and include one month's rent, deposit of one month's rent and an agency fee, which varies from zero to another month's rent.

Required documents for renting include letter of attestation, rent check, deposit check, agency fee check and rental insurance. Rental insurance is required for all rentals in France and necessary to obtains keys to the property.

Best of luck with house hunting!
