Ciao tutti!

I have a very concerning issue that I need to pick your brains with. I'm a non-EU PhD student in Italy and I'm bound to renew my permesso di soggiorno every year. I was given an amazing opportunity to be a part of this project funded by the EU and move abroad for almost 12 months. The catch was that I can apply for permesso only for a year's duration because of my university and on one year's permesso, I'm allowed to travel abroad only for half of it's duration i.e. 6 months.  Now, if I could apply for a 2 year permesso, it would work for me but...WHY WOULD LIFE BE EASY for a foreigner? lol. So, now I'm back after 6 months of my research period and getting a Provvisorio permesso have had me running in circles like a dog trying to catch its tail. I know how this should go in theory but the worst is to get an appointment to get things into motion. If anybody has previously applied for a provvisorio permesso, please let me know how long does it take to have the final provvisorio permesso after the fingerprint appointment.

Best,

Sam
