Hi Everyone !

I landed here in UAE on Oct 6th on 90 days visit visa.

Although, the mobility in Dubai is very convenient thru Metro and connecting buses but even though you have to walk a lot as places are wide a part if you do not have your personal conveyance. The common trend here is battery operated scooty/cycle where you can avoid long walks during hot day time. (New scooty cost AED 1200+ and second hand cost AED 500), also available on monthly installments of AED 200.

The google map made me crazy in calculating distances and compelled me to walk miles n miles...so I was also planning to buy one scooty but did'nt actually made a decision yet and the time of returning back home is also approaching.

My shoe soles were cracked in half (seriously)

Tips to walk during day time:

  1. Better have a nice comfy pair of shoes but durable one.
  2. Wear airy clothes to avoid sweats.
  3. Nice sun glasses and sun block is recommended
  4. A cap is a must if you can not carry an umbrella.
  5. Stay hydrated, a water bottle cost AED 1- 2.5 (shops are everywhere)
  6. Do not trust google map for distance calculation, it really make you walk a lot.

Dubai is certainly a place to explore on foot, one can enjoy walking if above tips are followed.

Have a nice walk n trip.

Enjoy!
